The cemetery is perhaps, the richest place in the world. My goddaughter, Imami Barnes, when she was a little girl, and I were walking through the cemetery near our house, and I told her that there were songs out there that were never sung, sermons that were never preached, inventions that were never discovered, poems that were never written, and ideas that were never shared. The cemetery is perhaps, the richest place in the world. People are buried there with more potential than we would ever know. Well, on November 1st, 2019, I celebrated my eighty-first birthday. A long time ago, I decided that although I was only one person, I was one. I could not do everything, I could

do something. What I could do, by the grace of God, I would do. And I did. After I left the cemetery, I came to my office, read the scriptures. Prayed, and asked God what I should do for that day. He said what He always does. “Floyd, give somebody something.” So, I did. I didn’t have any money, but I had a compliment, a strong handshake. a hug, and a smile. I celebrated people. I have learned so much from so many, and I have received far more than I have, or will ever give. My only daughter, Jennifer, surprised me on my birthday and brought with her a card with eighty-one dollars in it.

The card read, “Dad, I’m proud to be your daughter. No matter what life brought our way, you always cared and loved us with your whole heart. That’s why I ‘ll always feel so glad and blessed that a man as special as you are my dad.” I have four children, three boys and a girl. But it seems that girls are always special to their fathers. And, Jennifer is special to me. Floyd Rose Senior Servant Serenity Church

A Birthday Celebration For Bishop M.C. McGhee Sparks

Bishop M. C. McGhee & Lady Erma McGhee By Interfaith Gazette Staff Saturday was a day of reckoning for members of the Serenity Church, as they planned a 76 Birthday Celebration that would consist of SURPRISES for one Bishop M. C. McGhee. They planned it that way on purpose. Bethesda Christian Center, at 5967 Telegraph Rd. was truly the Place of Destination for those who pressed through the steady raindrops that dared not stop them from being in attendance. The crowd gathered and knew that the evening would be special for the McGhee family, especially the Bishop.

Attendees at the celebration As the crowd was informed that Bishop was on his way to the celebration, plans were being made to hide family members who had come from Tulsa, Oklahoma to surprise him. And what a surprise it was. Upon entering the doors with the room filled with family, friends, cohorts in ministry, and community leaders, Bishop. McGhee was blindfolded and walked to his seat. And then the celebration began. His Brother and family, Charles and wife Mrs. McGhee, son, and daughter, who traveled from Tulsa, entered the larger room that had been elegantly decorated to encompass all of the illustrious trimmings, and the where

withal that surrounded each corner. To his amazement when the blindfold was removed, he laid eyes upon his brother and family who truly surprised him. He was overtaken with so much joy that he erupted in tears, happy tears they were. And the evening continued with musical sounds by Bro. Marlin on the keyboard and Sis. Lanova Hart provided songs of celebration. Also present to share musical renditions was the Lo Salem Baptist Church Praise Team. Others who were present and participated in the event were Supt. Johnny Hobbs, Sr., Pastor Of St. John’s COGIC, Elder Prentiss Anderson, Mrs. Suzette Crowell, Ministers

from local churches, and many other friends. Sis. Beverly Of Serenity Church, was the M. C. for the Celebration. It was a celebration to remember, especially by Bishop M. C. McGhee, who stated that it was one of the best ever that he had witnessed. The scrumptious meal was catered by the blessed hands of J’Maes Restaurant. Happy birthday to you Bishop McGhee, May God continue to bless you.

Book from page 1 Bishop Holt stated that the book had an erudite history, in that it was birthed out of extensive conversations, discussions, and repeated concerns by Pastors and Leaders around the country about their formidable role and the sustenance of the high powered expectations that seemingly lacked much realistic understanding for, ample fortitude, and/or continuous support for the ones who had been called to carry out their assignment in Ministry. Love for what one was called to do doesn’t always match up to what one is expected to do, as stated by one of the attendees at the Book Signing. When asked to elaborate more on the subject, the attendees stated that people don’t seem to understand that those called by God are human beings as well and that their earthly needs aren’t any different than others who don’t profess a high calling in God. The Book Signing served as an inspiration to Bishop Holt as many of her cohorts in the gospel showed up to receive their autographed copy of the book. The book can be purchased upon request at 5967 Telegraph Rd. and has been requested by Ministers from around the country. Book sales are going rampant. You may also request your copy by contacting Bishop Holt at drmholt@att.net or reaching out to her on FB via Bishop Marjorie Holt.

Dr. Pam Rogers, Pastor Regina Shinaul, Dr. Blandine Walls, Pastor Carletta Williams and Bishop Marjorie Holt The cost of the book is just $12.00. She has cash app at $marjorieholtalabama and pay pal as well.

Bishop Holt thanks each of the attendees who came to the Book Signing and those who have purchased a book. She asks for

your prayers and support as she continues to allow God to use her in the gift of writing.

Kingdom Inheritance Hosts Revival

InterFaith Gazette TOLEDO, NOVEMBER 2019

A Birthday Celebration For Bishop M.C. McGhee Sparks...Continue

Bishop Gerard Norwood, Guest Revivalist By Interfaith Gazette Staff The south side of Toledo has a viable community that serves its residents in many forms. However, one way in which it attempted to meet the spiritual need of the residents on Airport Highway, were to host a highly spirited three day Revival at Kingdom Inheritance Church. Pastor Nadine Larde and congregants welcomed Bishop Gerard Norwood from Lexington, Ky. to serve as the guest conductor of the revival. As attendees entered the church, one could sense an anointed aroma that filled the room where glorious praise, worship, and fellowship emanated and spreaded like wild fire. Many who had come to support the revival were very familiar with the speaker, Bishop Norwood, who shares a longstanding relationship with the Toledo community. He has been a resident and a guest in the city who maintains ongoing engagements with local Pastors. This revival accomplished its mission and the people of God were blessed and stated that they looked forward to Bishop Norwood’s return to the city. We send blessings to Pastor Nadine Larde and the congregants at Kingdom Inheritance Church for a revival that strengthened its attendees.

Ohio Baptist State Annual Convention Convenes In Toledo

Pastor Michael Harrison, President

Pastor Charles Jones, Host

Bishop Louis Felton, Philadelphia, Pa., Guest Homilist

Dr. Ricky Sheirer, Speaker By Interfaith Gazette Staff Many people were out and about in Toledo on Thursday, October 17th enjoying the last good weather days in Toledo. However, not many were enjoying the sounds, Fellowship, scrumptious, and delectable meal as the 100 plus people at the Huff-Jones Center during the noon hour Luncheon at Christian Temple Baptist Church. The church and Pastor Charles Jones served as Host to the Annual Ohio Baptist State Convention for the week, which was a time of lectures, devotions, and evening services, shared by state officials of the Convention and participating churches from around the State of Ohio. It was evident that the Convention had exceeded its expectations as stated by Rev. Michael Harrison, Pastor of the Union Baptist Church in Youngstown and President of the Convention, who reminded the attendees of the blessing that had been experienced by all during the week of festivities and services that uplifted all, revived, renewed, and transcended the spiritual boost that was expressed and received. He summarized the week by stating that what had indeed happened there was an indication of where he wants the Convention to go. He has served as President for 11 years and is fiercely looking to groom younger ones with fresh ideas for the Convention to remain, sustain, and progress to greater. He stated that the food that was provided by the Host Church was beyond belief, a meal that could only be experienced at Christian Temple Baptist Church. The week’s services were engulfed with transforming knowledge, spirit filled deposits, and a deeper sense of revelatory reveals from anointed speakers who intentionally proclaimed God’s word profusely and purposefully. It was notable that the Speaker for the Presidential luncheon, Dr. Ricky Sheir of Cincinnati, spoke from the theme, DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. The scripture that he spoke from was taken from Isaiah 43: 1. As indicated, some other speakers were Pastor Michelle Moore, Cleveland, Oh; and Bishop Felton Louis of Philadelphia, Pa., who was the evening speaker for the week. When speaking with Bishop Felton, the evening speaker for the week, he stated that the services were designed to empower the people of God and

Attendees at Annual Luncheon

Attendees at Annual Luncheon speak a word of power, and purposeful perspective that prepares the people of God to not just thrive, rather survive during these times of transitional church. The theme for the services was taken from Matt. 6:33 which reads “ Seek ye first the KINGDOM of God..........”. What is interested he stated, is that God didn’t say much about the church but he said

a lot about the KINGDOM! He believes that the millennials look different to us because of the different influences, he believes that there is going to be a great harvest and revival and that there will be a remnant if we demonstrate to them how to know God. Bishop Felton ended the interview by stating that he needed to be

in Toledo this week, because he was born and christened in Toledo at Zion COGIC! The week ended on a high note with the attendees indicating that a great spirit filled week had blessed them. Congratulations to President Harrison and Pastor Charles Jones for a successful week of fellowship for the people of God!
