Northewestern University Student Center Status: Design development phase Role: design development, focus on interior development The project renoted the exisitng student center in the center campus of Northwestern University. The new building will be built on the exisiting basement struture. Elevated common space take the flow across the building.


China pavillion Milan Expo Competition(winner) 2013 Built in 2015 Role: Pre-design / Schematic design. This winning project is constructed in 2015 for Milan Expo. As response to the agriculture theme, concept of China pavilion is “hope of land�. The roof formed the major image of the architecture like a landscape, covering the exhibition space underneath. The roof also extract element from traditional Chinese roof structure to present the cultural identity.

Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts Status: Competition (not announced) 2015 Scale: Campus Plan Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts will renew it’s campus on the exising historical campus in the urban center. Starting from understand the preserved school characeter and the needs of dynamic for art studets, the new campus refelct the main historic buildling with modern finish. The rest of the classroom connects of the each other as networks with interaction of inside and outside. The proposed campus also built a semi-open relationship with the neighborhood, soft merging with the south civic park, and connecting to the history museum accross river.

design team worked with NYCHA to analyze the two case study sites, identify key challenges, and develop preliminary strategies for improving general health and well-being at Betances I and IV through the repurposing and redesign of available and in many cases underused open space. The results of this work was then presented at the FitCity 10 B ETA N C ES I Conference to serve as a springboard for a morning and LO T SIZE afternoon collaborative work session involving a diverse array137,522 N O . During the morning FitCity workshop, participants were challenged to consider the possibility of introducing gardens, food production and composting into the Betances I and IV sites. In the afternoon session, participants were prompted to consider how active recreation uses could be incorporated on-site. Participants were broken up into groups of ten, and multiple wide-ranging—and at times passionate—small-group design PERIMETER charrettes followed.

FitBackground NYCHA Process Activating Open Space at a Mott Haven Development On May 11, 2015 a team consisting of NYCHA, Ennead Lab, Over a three month period leading up to FitCity 10, the Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, Peterson Rich Office + Sagi Golan, Gina Lovasi of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and Elizabeth Garland of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine conducted a pair of workshops at FitCity 10. FitCity is an annual program organized by the AIA New York Chapter in partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to “bring together architects, planners, designers, developers, government officials, community advocates, and public health professionals to discuss how design, policy, and practice decisions can create opportunities to increase physical activity, access to healthier food and beverages, and overall well-being.” The aim of the “Fit NYHCA” workshops was explore opportunities FitCity 10 | Activating Opento Space at a Mott Haven Development and strategies to activate open space on NYCHA-owned properties.
