Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector. Prior experience in an automotive and/or manufacturing environment. Ability to read blue prints and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Use of basic dimensional metrology tools. Efficient with MS Office including: MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be a self‐starter, detailed oriented, and have the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines. Must be comfortable working in both an office and factory setting. Able to interact with multiple departments. Excellent attendance and reliable transportation. Ability to travel at minimum 10% regionally. Must be available for weekends and OT as needed.

The new Director is responsible for overseeing the delivery of County services in collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and to maintain the current excellent service and high standards delivered by staff. Extensive knowledge of Veteran's benefits and programs is required to effectively reach Veterans in the County and ensure that Veterans are effectively getting services for which they are eligible. Onslow County has a population of over 190,000 within five incorporated municipalities and unincorporated areas, and in addition, contains the U.S. Marine base Camp Lejeune with 43,000 marines and sailors stationed there. Located in Eastern North Carolina, Onslow County enjoys a temperate climate and is a short drive to the beach. Veteran Services Director Position and Department Overview: Reporting to the Assistant County Manager of Consolidated Human Services, and directly supervising four Veteran Services Assistants and an Administrative Assistant, the Director will be responsible for a budget of nearly $400K. Extensive inter and intra agency engagement is a key responsibility of the position to reach Veterans and their families, to work with other non‐ profits and governmental organizations, to market the services to the community to ensure that every eligible Veteran knows what benefits s/he can access. The next Veteran Services Director must possess essential skills in community engagement, public presentations and program advocacy.
