The Vehicle Controls Engineer ‐ Advanced Vehicle Drive Systems must be able to work as an effective member of a dynamic team within the department and the extended enterprise. They must be able to plan and prioritize work activities in order to prepare for and support product launch timing. Position is based in Livonia, Michigan with travel locally. Responsibilities:     

Supporting the research, development, and manufacturing efforts in advanced vehicle drive system technologies. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineers to collect and interpret the component and vehicle level requirements and to translate them into a scalable system level validation procedure to be performed during the end of assembly line process. Develop this procedure and the tools required for testing, calibration, and verification of the advanced drive system hardware and software. Work collaboratively with test equipment vendors to formulate a test plan and integrate the new test features into existing or new equipment. Fully support the implementation of the test strategy in the in the assembly plant and provide feedback back to the development team.

Qualifications:  Bachelor degree in Engineering.  5+ years of experience in design, development, testing, debugging, and system Integration of vehicle assembly plant End‐of‐Line test equipment.  U.S. Citizenship required.  Strong automotive manufacturing engineering experience, or experience developing end of line test equipment and procedures in an automotive or similar environment.  Demonstrated experience in converting engineering test specifications to plant floor manufacturing test requirements.  Supported new product launches with respect to PLC based controls systems and test stand development.  Prior experience with 08011 interface and conducted vehicle‐level performance validation of Electrical Control Units.  Familiar with unit testing, system validation, quality control and software release methodology and processes.  Proven effectiveness working in a team‐based project from inception to finish across multiple disciplines.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Analytical reasoning and problems solving. Preferred Qualifications:  Knowledgeable of Serial Communication Protocols, CAN, LIN,VAN, BroadR‐Reach.  Experiences in working with vehicle driver assistance systems and various perception sensors.
