Due to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for a CAD Detailer who will work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. This position is located at our Allen Park, MI facility. Responsibilities:        

Application of CAD skills necessary to complete assignment requirements Responsible for the verification of component details necessary to meet customer’s objectives, clearances, manufacturing requirements and functionality Responsible to support department design reviews Communicate job status to senior designer, engineering and management on a daily basis Work together with all personnel in the design services and engineering department as a team Assist the design department in other capacities such as in designing and checking, with guidance Continue to strive to be the best in class. (New CAD methods/training, design for cost reductions, serviceability, manufacturing process, etc.) Responsible to support department Quality System and follow any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects

Qualifications: 

   

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‐year college or technical school pertaining to mechanical designer/engineering; two years of product design and detail experience with a strong automotive background; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Demonstrated geometric dimensioning and tolerancing capability Related CAD training classes

Qualifications  Minimum two years’ experience operating CNC Machining Centers.  Minimum two years’ experience with job shop/low volume precision machined components.  Must be familiar with G & M code programs as a CNC Operator.  Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.  Must be able to inspect own work as a CNC Operator.  Must have basic tools.  Must be available to work overtime when necessary.  Excellent communication skills. Preferred Skills  Experience in set‐up of repeat jobs.  Proficiency with G & M codes, including editing.  Makino and/or Mazak experience.  Experience with GD&T as a CNC Operator.  Experience cutting all types of metal: steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron.
