CURATORS OF THE MODERN MARKETPLACE

Welcome to the new Ivystone. We’ve looked a little different over the years as we’ve grown

OUR NEW SHOWROOM BRANDING

and expanded, and we're excited to bring our fresh new

DALLAS

vibe to the Dallas Showroom.

DEAR VALUED CUSTOMERS We are proud to showcase many of the finest brands in our award-winning Dallas Showroom. With over 22,000 square feet, our showroom offers a unique experience that features the best in gift, home and fashion brands ranging from fun and functional to stylish and luxe. Known for our visual presentation and creative merchandising ideas, Ivystone showrooms are an excellent source of inspiration for your store. Great retail merchandising is often subtly done, with the exception of "wow" statement pieces. When customers walk into your store, they don't consciously think about the sensory environment. Rather, the colors, sounds, smells, and feel of merchandise and displays combine to deliver a unique experience. We encourage you to use our Dallas Market Merchandising Guide as an inspiring tool for merchandising in your store. Cheers, The Ivystone Team

LIVE CREATIVELY

From the Top Down Merchandise from the ceiling down. Consider your entire space, not just tables and walls. Use your ceiling to drop down attractive displays, props, and merchandising at eye level. An example is to follow Napa’s lead and hang a beautiful light fixture in the center of your display.

NAPA HOME & GARDEN

Time for Bed A faux bed is a great way to show off bedding. This display from Anaya perfectly utilizes a bed to add a cozy context to their products. It will remind customers of their bedrooms and how they could use some new throws, pillows, poofs, side tables, or even a bench at the foot of their bed.

ANAYA HOME

Paint on the Drama Paint is a great way to add drama to a section of your store. Paint a small wall or an abstract shape onto a wall in a bright or dramatic color, then add a shelf (or a few). Bovi Home painted a rich mustard wall and then showcased white, black, and mustard products to create a dramatic display

Create a Modern Gallery Wall Pick a color palette. Gallery walls can go crazy or look messy really fast. One of the best ways to showcase artwork on a gallery wall is to pick a color palette and stick to it. Throughout Celadon Art’s display they showcase artwork of the same color next to each other. Create various gallery walls that make a statement.

CELADON ART

Use Nature Use natural elements, like indoor plants, to add drama to vignettes. Plants surrounding these World’s Away pieces make them feel more “found” and special, begging to be examined.

WORLDS AWAY

Let There Be Light Ambient lighting creates an overall atmosphere in your store and has the largest impact. In-store lighting can actually help guide customers through your store, and increase the average spend per customer.

ZUHAUS HOME

Show Off Arrange furniture to show off its attributes. Whether arranged subtly, or perhaps not so subtly, arranging furniture to show off its attributes will convince your customers that whatever their furniture needs are, that you have the perfect piece just for them. All the senses are engaged: sight, sound, touch, and even smell.

UNION HOME

Add a Little Romance Create a romantic bedroom. Rows upon rows of beds showcasing bedding does not entice a customer. Instead, create a romantic vignette with fluffy pillows and throws. Add a tray table with two wine glasses. Add a flower to the nightstand. Create a romantic atmosphere customers can visualize in their own homes.

ELISABETH YORK

EFFORTLESS ENTERTAINING

Raising the Bar Develop creative ways to cross merchandise. Cross merchandising is subtle but effective to increase order values. Customers look at items that complement what they are already buying. Consider placing barware and ice buckets near drink mixes or coolers.

CORKCICLE

Fresh & Fun Product placement is important. Consider rotating product placement on a monthly basis to keep your store looking fresh.

BOURBON BARREL FOODS

Statement Plants Look for a fresh way to transport customers. This display by Beatriz Ball immediately says “holiday”, simply because of the centerpiece. It’s a quick and easy way to make a statement, while adding a touch of freshness to your display.

BEATRIZ BALL

That’s a Wrap Showcase gift wrapped products both in and out of their packaging. This Stonewall Kitchen display highlights seasonal product that comes beautifully packaged. Customers will appreciate the convenience of prepackaged gifts.

STONEWALL KITCHEN

Mix & Match From everyday to holiday, products that mix and match are appealing to consumers. Nora Fleming’s beautiful display showcases the mix & match functionality of their products. Customers can easily shop a variety of styles allowing them to create a customized look just for them. Mixing & matching also allows you to curate multiple pieces that may increase units sold per purchase.

NORA FLEMING

Three of a Kind People find symmetry pleasant, yet boring. Customers will be more visually engaged when they see a group of three items. Karma’s display groups various products in threes, such as the candle sticks and votives to create a visually interesting tablescape.

KARMA

OUTDOOR OASIS

A Material Girl A roundup of different materials can add interest. This outdoor vignette from Napa Home & Garden mixes rattan, ceramic, and glass to create the perfect outdoor entertaining oasis.

NAPA HOME & GARDEN

Gift Green It’s more than a plant. Create fun displays to showcase garden items. Make gifts feel extra special by creating small groupings of various products. Additionally, adding outdoor elements like planters, gardening tools, and even jars with dirt can enhance your gardening display.

MODERN SPROUT

Party Your Way Entertaining is all about creating memorable moments. In order to increase the sales of products for entertaining, it’s important to set the stage and help your customers visualize the many ways they can use the unique items you provide.

BEATRIZ BALL

Around the Table Use round tables or even an actual dining room table, if possible. Using a dining room table for displays create a cozy feeling. Customers are much more likely to buy when products are pulled together for them in a visual example.

Make It...Relevant Who is most likely to purchase your store's product? You should have a clear understanding of your store's target audience when creating a product display, using elements to which they can relate. This Bourbon Barrel display would not be relevant in a kids store but in a boutique with a summer or kitchen section, they can capitalize on BBQ season.

A HAPPY HOME

Tell a Story Some of the most effective product displays tell a story. Regardless of what you are trying to sell, you should present it by telling a story in your display. GreenBox Art does this beautifully in their showroom display and product imagery.

The Pyramid Principle The Pyramid Principle applies to a triangular merchandised display. Start with the largest item in the center and have the smallest products on the outside. This principle helps create a sense of hierarchy and gives depth to displays.

HONEY + HANK

Fresh-Cut Arrangements A simple way to dress up a display is by adding a few fresh-cut flowers in a similar color palette. Flowers not only draw customers to displays but they also improve a shopper’s mood.

ANNE NEILSON

To Have & To Hold Fill containers with small grab-and-go items. Small planters can even come with plants that are also for sale, making it extra easy for your customers.

FILLED WITH FRAGRANCE

Bright Backdrops Help floating shelves pop off the wall by painting the backdrop area a bright and contrasting color. Our Capri Blue display packed a punch with bright, bold, blue walls showcasing their newest signature collection obsession, Pineapple Flower.

CAPRI BLUE

Set the Mood You can trigger emotions in shoppers by setting the mood with your product displays. For instance, red is an excellent choice because it's associated with passion. Green, on the other hand, is associated with Eco-friendly.

MER-SEA

Add Sophistication Candle Cloches (featured below) are a sophisticated way to present the full bouquet of each fragrance in your store. Each soothing scent from Napa Home & Garden is taken from nature — a sophisticated mix of Asiatics, botanicals, woods & herbals.

TOTALLY TOTES

Make it Instagram Ready Consuela uses black lights, tinsel, funky chandeliers, and even disco balls to make its display post worthy. Making your store “Instagram ready” will encourage shoppers to post photos, which is a great way to spread the word about your store and the cool items you have for sale.

CONSUELA

Keep it Simple If there's too much going on with your display, shoppers may overlook the product. Consider ordering pre-packs that come with free displays to showcase a specific product. Often simple displays will actually boost shopper engagement.

PURSE’N / LOTTA LITE

Shaped Shelving Sometimes shelves themselves can be decorative. These free-standing shelves with a decorative top and Spartina branding in the center create an elevated branded look to display handbags.

SPARTINA 449

I Saw the Sign In-store signage can be an effective way to improve your store’s shopping experience. A quick guide that shows everything that fits in a bag or what tag icons mean can help shoppers find what they are looking for.

SHOP YOUR STYLE

Hot Topics Sustainable fashion is a hot topic these days and we're all about it. Our new showroom vendor, Boody Eco Wear, thoughtfully fits your everyday life with the softest, most comfortable clothing essentials.

BOODY ECO WEAR

Color Coordinate Purchase multiple collections from a vendor that color coordinate throughout your store. The colors of Mer-Sea’s Anywear Collection (below) coordinate with their DayJama and Chalet collections for mix and match sales!

MER-SEA

The Right Fit Mannequins can help demonstrate the style and fit of clothing. For some shoppers, seeing clothes on a mannequin is good enough for them to skip the fitting room.

IVORY ELLA

Spaced Out Ensure there is adequate space between products, impactful color themes, and creative product positioning will help your shoppers notice and engage with the products displayed. An item with a lot of space around it makes it seem more special. It creates a visual illusion that the product is something that needs a second look.

MELANIA CLARA

Easy-to-Shop Store A messy store can affect sales negatively. Disorganized clothing racks that are too full deter customers from shopping, trying on clothes and ultimately buying your merchandise. Make sure racks are spaced evenly, and group like items together. Make sure each rack is visibly identified and sizes are well-marked.

SPARTINA 449

Wall Space Use the wall space to increase the visual appeal of clothing. Walls are good areas to highlight accessories that require front-face merchandising, such hats and scarves.

HADLEY WREN

Keep it Tidy How you choose to display your apparel can make a huge difference. Display one single shirt on a torso form, apparel frame, or shirt easel. Then, place the other colors and sizes neatly on the tables. When a customer can view the shirt, they do not have to handle it to see the design or fabric. Make sure you choose the apparel display that fits the needs of the products in your store.

SO FRESH & SO CLEAN

Make it Fashion! Capri Blue is the intersection where fashion meets fragrance. Try pairing products with fashion items.

CAPRI BLUE

Signature Color Choose a signature color for your store. Green Roads, for example, uses the bright green in their logo throughout their showroom displays.

GREEN ROADS

Sneak a Wiff Shoppers love interacting with products, especially when it comes to body care. Dr. Squatch created a fun wash bucket display with their top-smelling products.

DR. SQUATCH

FUN IN THE SUN

Color is Key As you display Corkcicle products, keep in mind which colors fit best together and place them accordingly. Merchandise colors light to dark from the left to the right.

CORKCICLE

Hands Free Shoppers like to try out beauty products before they buy them. Our new showroom vendor, SnappyScreen, displays touch-less testers, allowing customers to sample different fragrances of hand sanitizer without touching the containers.

SNAPPYSCREEN

One of Each, Please! Mix products together in the same space to create a well rounded customer experience. Consider purchasing pre-packs to make both buying and merchandising a breeze.

DOCK & BAY

GROW WITH STYLE

Adorable Bundles Merchandise adorable bundles together to create a strong display that encourages customers to purchase multiple items. Stephen Joseph pairs cuddly creatures with pillows as well as coordinating back to school essentials to create eye grabbing displays. The items work together as a great gift bundle for kids. When displaying products, think in pairs to increase sales.

STEPHEN JOSEPH

Don’t Forget the Details Place Corkcicle products with the label facing forward. Customers recognize brand names and this helps keep your shelves tidy. Fill the shelves and tables to capacity but be cautious not to overfill.
