SERVICES JFC Engineering has more than 30 years of experience in light engineering and metal fabrication solutions, enabling it to provide batch supplies of steel components. For some of our customers we are the steel component sub-contract division of their production capabilities. Perhaps it is only a small-value part, or maybe a complete underframe, but we help other manufacturers to address their fabrication requirements, absorb their peaks and troughs of demand, or help to create bespoke versions of existing products. Tri-service control room desks.
The Tri-service control room desks were conceived as a method of implementing a new mobilising system with communications integration, common hardware, software and ways of working across the services for Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
CLIENTS Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham Fire Authorities; Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Authority; Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Combined Fire Authority.
BRIEF
The ability to expand from two control desks to a maximum of seven at each location, and to share data across all 21 desks, allows the whole system to be divisible into groups that can provide an ongoing service even in the event of a serious incident in one area’s remit.

SOLUTION
Leg clearance to BS EN527-1:2011
A training suite and an operational suite feature in each location. The training suites consist of five 3,000mm boomerang shaped desks and the operational suites have two. Up to five 600mm monitors can be affixed to the top surfaces supported by adjustable monitor arms. Discreet cable management was created via a unique cable laying system. All power and data cables link to a central ‘landing pad’ inside an easily accessible CPU containment box that houses twin mobile CPU holders.

Delivery and installation included commissioning and PAT testing. An ongoing maintenance programme forms part of a service level agreement and product warranty.
