NEITHER CONTEMPORARY NOR TRADITIONAL
Reacting to the architectural and decorative forms of the Marae (such as the Wharenui) through design operations that manipulate these forms. Considering the relationships between the traditional object and a contemporary container. Investigate the traditional Wharenui and its forms, scale, functions, interior and decorative elements. Elements of a marae such as ribs, hands and head are reinterpreted using various design principles.

Landscape approach in response towards site contect. This approach is also conjunction with previous approaches. Adoption of mountain to generate the basic form and house the programs. The form is then tweaked to interact with AAMI park & its passers by.
