OUR PITCH – YOU CAN’T HIDE! Izzy, Tom, Foyez, Donnelle and Sean J
Script We are confident on our idea but we just have a few areas we need to improve in our script.
Camera angles and shot types – a few examples
Budget details ■ Costume: Tom – Leather jacket, shirt, black jeans and black shoes; Shannon – Shirt, skirt, cute jacket and converses ■ Props: Fake blood (For the murdered girls, and Toms neck) & Cigarette. ■ Transport: We are getting the C2C to Southend Central (Using budget money)
Location scouting ■ As we are all poor, we could not do any location scouting. ■ So we know a general idea where we are filming in Southend. – AKA: near the beach in Southend Central. ■ However, we know a café where we are filming, in Hornchurch (Foyez knows the owner)
Health and safety /risk assessment ■Broken glass in the sand, Drowning, choking on food, Splinter on wood (Final scene), falling over when running, electrocution in arcade, hot beverages, etc‌
Character profile and cast list ■ Tom / Ross: (077258666**) He is a 19 year old male who stalks girls on Instagram ,meets up with them and murders them, in which he gets away with it (Most of the time). He is a very calm person until things don’t go his way, this is shown when he snaps and his real personality is highlighted; which is covered up by the “Gentleman” façade that he puts on. ■ Shannon / Chelsie (Unknown) She is a 16/17 year old school girl who met this man online and is going on a first date with him. She’s young and naïve, however she’s not stupid and can adapt to difficult situations with ease. Her downfall is how trusting she can be towards people.
Sound track plan ■ We are going to use the foley method to film sounds on location. These include: Arcade, sea side, seagulls, running of feet, café chatting in the background, Wind, heavy breathing, cars, feet on sand/ pebbles, phone ring, etc… ■ We are going to create our own spooky music – with the help of Tom’s musical friends. ■ And the dialogue is going to be recorded on location.
How does your film fit into the horror genre? ■ Our film fits in by using the same genre specific cliché – such as; jump scares, chases sequences, moments of pure tense (building up the tension). Also, using gore, blood and murder in our film. ■ Our Horror film is similar to SPLIT – due to it being more psychological rather than the classic slasher-flick. We also use tense music to set the scene, which can be seen as a cliché . Furthermore, the characters are similar; Tom (Ross), has similar personality traits to Denis in SPLIT– being a psychopath and preying on young girls; while being controlling. However, our character does not have schizophrenia. ■ Chelsie is also similar to the girls in split as she is a young female like the characters in SPLIT. ■ SPLIT includes many chase sequences and shows the girls failed attempts of escaping, similar to our film.

Other points to consider ■ A timetable ■ Weather ■ The timing of the trains (Making the most of our filming days) ■ Who needs to be there?
Any questions? J
