An artist, researcher and academic my practice takes a choreographic approach to drawing practice; 'blubilds', draw out movement, spatial experiences, systems and kinetic relations to place. Utilising forces of gravity, liquid, rhythm and pulse, staining, and ‘moteur’ extracted through movement analysis. Her work ‘draws out’ distinct relationship with bodies and matter. Drawing is central to her practice in terms of line making from drawing tools through to and beyond the fingertips in actions, materials, and objects. Bodies of work include drawing with air, drawing in Edgelands, drawing with parkour; work embodies movements to create new notions of space and place and provoke new typographies and ecologies of place. Recent work has been exhibited with the Drawing Research Network in two international exhibitions on Drawn to Time and Drawing Ecologies in Situ and a publication with Intellect on ‘Blubilds: drawing diagrammatic stains’ with Drawing: Research, Theory, Practice, Volume 7, Issue 2, Oct 2022.
