A n i n t e r d i s c i p l i n a r y c o l l a b o r a t i v e c u l t u r e is established through carefully intersected spatial organization throughout the bu i l d i n g. L i k e t h e c o n n e c t i o n o f l i n k e d t ra i n c a rs, t h i s o r g a n i z a t i o n s y s t e m transfor ms the series of individual departments into a single unit. Space is designed to accommodate multiple functions and fur niture is selected that facilitates user to space connections. A physically and mentally healthy environment is facilitated through the use of natural materials throughout the design. Industrial inspired finishes coincide with the cur rent design of the building while recalling the influence of the campus railway system. Centered around a network of constantly moving spaces, the Colle ge of Design ser ves as a united link within the University

R e f e r e n c i n g t h e u s e o f m a n i p u l a t i o n a n d i n t e r p r e t a t i o n , we can apply this idea by having visual weight in our color scheme, layering of patter n, material selection, and the literal use of weight. The space will have an elegant balance between the simple beauty of the product and the strength and roughness of the site. Going back to the interpretation aspect the site will follow a linear flow to accentuate the layout of the plan. These elements will help to express the style and mission of the product.
