March Saturday 28th March Herts & Essex Air Ambulance fundraiser An acrobatics show on behalf of Herts & Essex Air Ambulance
April Friday 3rd April Good Friday Walk of Witness Churches Together lead this annual procession from Bancroft Gardens to the Market Place for an inter-denominational service.
Saturday 4th April Easter Treasure Hunt Land Train Departing from the Market Place, come for a ride on our Land Train and find the hidden Easter eggs.
Saturday 11th April Classic Car Show On the Market Place and down by the Riverside
Saturday 18th April Vaisakhi Procession The colourful parade wends its way around the town from the Wilbury Way Gurdwara.

May Monday 4th May May Day Gala & Market Maypoles, market, music and mayhem! On the Market Place and in the High Street.
Saturday 16th May Hitchin Fairtrade Awareness Hertfordshire’s first Fairtrade town’s annual celebration of Fairtrade Day.
Saturday 30th May Hitchin Fashion Show Our Independent boutiques take to the catwalk to show off their Spring & Summer collections.
June Saturday 6th June Rotary Health & Wellbeing Day Rotary clubs of Hitchin join together to provide a platform for community health advice and fitness providers.
Saturday 11th June Hitchin & District Scouts Day A day of celebration and achievement bringing together various groups for this special event.

June Friday 19th June Hitchin Initiative 20th Anniversary Celebration Gala Dinner In association with St Mary’s Preservation Trust Heart and Soul at St Mary’s Church. (Black Tie dinner)
Saturday 20th June British Schools Summer Fair Stalls, music and old fashioned games at this annual fundraiser for the unique British Schools museum.
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June Rhythms of the World Enjoy a weekend of music and fun as this unique festival returns to Hitchin Priory
Saturday 27th June Royal British Legion Armed Forces Day Hosted by Hitchin’s Royal British Legion and held on the Market Place, this is part of a nationwide event.
Sunday 28th June Hitchin Hard Half Marathon The Rotary Club of Hitchin Tilehouse hold this popular event which starts at Hitchin Priory

July Thursday 2nd July Street food Festival - Hosted by The Victoria PH Come and sample the best of Hitchin’s street food with music on the Market Place from 4pm – 9pm.
Saturday 4th July Independents Day Hitchin’s independent businesses are such a big part of our retail offer and are pleased to participate in this National celebration
Saturday 11th July Hitchin Markets Duck Race & Model Boats Riverside fun plus new this year, the model boats join our mini regatta.
Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July Entente Cordiale A celebration of markets - French & British linked by our own ‘Eurostar’ Landtrain.
Saturday 25th July Buskers Day Talented vocalists and musicians liven up the town throughout the day at key busking points until 4pm Bucklersbury Day The businesses of Bucklersbury throw open their doors for an afternoon of fun, bargains and entertainment from noon until early evening. Organised by the Humanitas charity shop at no.31

August Saturday 1st August FitFest Bancroft Gardens is the location for this all things energetic! There will be demos taking place at selected times during the day plus stalls and activities.
Saturday 8th August Custom Car Show On the Market Place and down by the Riverside
Saturday 15th August Hitchin Band Hitchin’s very own award winning brass band make a welcome return to Hitchin Market Place for a concert of favourite tunes.
September Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September Hitchin Food & Drink Festival Including Creative Kitchen, this is not just the regular tempting stalls but a positive cornucopia of gastronomic goodies with the chefs on hand to demonstrate their culinary skills.

October Saturday 10th October Hitchin Fashion Show Our Independent boutiques return to the catwalk to show off their Autumn and Winter collections.
Saturday 17th October Triangle Community Gardens Apple Day An Autumn favourite Triangle Community Garden return to the Market Place with all the information you could possibly want about English apples – the varieties, the recipes and the ways in which they are grown.
November Friday 20th November Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On This wonderful celebration of Hitchin’s community spirit builds year on year. Music, stalls and special guests heralds the launch of the town’s Christmas season.
December Saturday 5th December Young Enterprise Fair Entrepreneurs of tomorrow from schools across Hertfordshire display their goods and services for sale as part of their business studies programme. Come and help judge Best Product, Best Service, Best Display and other categories. Gavioli Organ The Gavioli Organ hosted once again by Hitchin Lions in their annual fundraiser for the Christmas Meals on Wheels service.

December Sunday 6th December An Indie Christmas Hitchin’s Independent stores return to the Market Place to promote their Christmas products.
Saturday 12th December Christmas Land Train Departing once again from the Market Place, come for a ride on our popular Christmas Land Train.
Sunday 13th December Hitchin Markets Christmas Gala Day & Land Train Hitchin Market sets up shop in the High Street and on the Market Place to promote their range of products on offer for Christmas.
Wednesday 16th December Rotary Carols Hitchin’s oldest Rotary Club hosts the open air carol concert in the Market Place at 8pm, with a bucket shake for local good causes. In St Mary’s if wet.
