Design Projects Fall 2018

Arch 100C |”Disaster Studio”: Museo GeoHundido Collaborative work | This studio challenged students to choose and address aspects of a recent natural disaster in any part of the world. Museo GeoHundido (GeoSunk Museum) tackled some of the issues of subsidence in Mexico City through the use of informative spaces that produce behavioral changes in visitors.

Spring 2018 Arch 100B |“Good Food”: Awareness Individual work | Students were challenged to design a multi-use building with the purpose of linking the community to the production of healthy foods. Awareness focused on the idea of visual connection between all spaces in order to keep the community connected to the procedures followed in the healthy foods industry.

Fall 2017

Arch 100A |“Double Negative”: Transition

Individual work | Designed a hypothetical Library with the purpose of creating spaces through the intersection of solid/void conditions. Transition is a project that attempts to create transitional impacts between wide and narrow spaces through the use of geometric intersections.

Spring 2016 Design Village Competition - “Aura”: The Aura Sphere

Collaborative work | Design-Build | Competitors were challenged to orchestrate the material and tectonic nature of their designs so that they produce a transcendent and immaterial effect. The Aura Sphere uses a combination of light and color to convey a presence of atmosphere and quality that seems to surround and be generated by the occupant.
