The largest urban renewal project since creating Melbourne Docklands, the Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative is a partnership between the Victorian Government, through Places Victoria, and the City of Greater Dandenong. Initial community consultation identified a range of strategies to rejuvenate the city centre, and realise its potential as a centre for business and services as well as an attractive centre for the local community and visitors. The Victorian Government has committed a total of $290 million to revitalise central Dandenong over 15-20 years, aiming to attract more than $1.17 billion in private sector investment.
