Deep Ellum Urban Farming Design The urban farming development in Deep Ellum, Texas reflects the unique structre elemets of the area. Noticing heavy timber and metal structures, one needs to design a system that protects from the elemtns but also creates a space around the design that gives comfort. The design of the elements are steel trusses and steel columns mixing into the concrete foundations and walls. The idea was to connect with the culture and create a site that matches with the surrounding structures.

Norman Yoga Studio Norman is an area where the city is growing from culture and the economy. The idea for this project is to integrade with the site and create a space of meditation. The design of this structure was use more moden designs and seperate the workout spaces from the rooms and lounge areas. As one enters, there is two courtyards that also seperate the extoic workouts from the more calm workouts. The elemnts used are heavy timber and concrte. The structure side is also made of heavy timber as well.

Center For Cultural Interactions

Co editor: Liz Ross

This site lies at the heart of Ancient Rome: bordering the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, this is an area heavily trafficked by tourists. As such, a center for cultural interaction placed here will attract visitors from all different backgrounds, tourists and residents alike. The first floor is dedicated to public functions, primarily a cafÊ and a library, as well as access to a small theater and exhibit hall for private use outside of the museum’s operating hours. Upper floors are dedicated to exhibits showcasing wonders of the ancient world, from a collection of ancient busts, to a 18m x 18m scale model of Ancient Rome, to multimedia reconstructions of variousmonuments. The building rests lightly on the site, projecting out over Via deiForiImperialiwithout obscuring the dramatic view of the Colosseum as one makes their way down the road.
