Resilence Center The design of this site is to produce a structure with little impact to the grounds and also impact people with information through the design of the structure. Through the mapping of sound, vegetation, and life around the site, the design is based upon the ingenuity of the modern world of architecture. The location of the structure is on the highest point away from the flooding zone that allows space for full growth within the site as a whole and the building as it self. The large floor to ceiling windows allows views of the full vegetation surrounding the area. A large green house to the south with a vaulted roof gives the perspective of growth within the building community and nature. The building overall allows people to understand the connection of environment and architecture through the circulation and design to the site. The connection between the modern world of architecture and the environment is based upon the stream navigating its way towards the building. The thought of this allows one to maintain how healthy the water PH levels are while also maintaining the level of growth of plans in and around the stream.

CENTER FOR CULTURAL INTERACTIONS

CO Editor- Liz Ross

This site lies at the heart of Ancient Rome: bordering the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, this is an area heavily trafficked by tourists. As such, a center for cultural interaction placed here will attract visitors from all different backgrounds, tourists and residents alike. The first floor is dedicated to public functions, primarily a café and a library, as well as access to a small theater and exhibit hall for private use outside of the museum’s operating hours. Upper floors are dedicated to exhibits showcasing wonders of the ancient world, from a collection of ancient busts, to a 18m x 18m scale model of Ancient Rome, to multimedia reconstructions of variousmonuments. The building rests lightly on the site, projecting out over Via deiForiImperialiwithout obscuring the dramatic view of the Colosseum as one makes their way down the road

Norman Yoga Studio Norman is an area where the city is growing from culture and the economy. The idea for this project is to intergrade with the site and create a space of meditation. The design of this structure was use more modern designs and separate the workout spaces from the rooms and lounge areas. As one enters, there is two courtyards that also separate the exotic workouts from the more calm workouts. The elements used are heavy timber and concrete. The structure side is also made of heavy timber as well.

Modern Evil Lair Evil Villains always seem to have some sort of style with the architecture of their lair. The idea of this project was to pick a specific client and design their evil lair. The villain I created was based upon the style he used for his fortress. By creating a modern structure above, it gives a sense of power by living on the White Cliffs of Dover. As one interacts with the space, a hidden lair is found underneath the structure. A large concrete structure with an array of lights in a space that opens up, creates a sense of overwhelming. The project allowed us to be creative and show our interest.
