Lofoten / Norway @Wet, wet, wet@
God morgen! After our first night in the Rorbu cabin at KrĂŚmmervika, the outlook for the first trip looks great.
MAREIKE: ... is equally at home on land and water. : MATZEour ... from lad gne. Colo
ANDI: ... likes to distract us on the way down by telling jokes.
ASTRID: ... never gets out of breath even on vertical climbs.
JĂ–RG: ... always kept our goal in sight. SILVIA: ... the novice in the group :-), her first trip to Norway.
OUR TEAM IN THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS: We spent a week in the Lofoten Islands in August 2010 – during which time the team makeup changed constantly. The photos for the Jack Wolfskin Summer Catalogue were taken during our trips.

It’s the landscape of contrasts that draws us here. The 80 islands off Norway’s coast always offer exciting trips: the landscape is a mosaic of rocky cliffs, fjords, glaciers, forests, lakes, waterfalls and mountains. The sea is everywhere.
We set off for Reine on a warm 25ËšC day.
the Starting at sea level and climbing the 448 metres to be. top of Reinebringen shows just how steep a mountain canOnce Gradients of 30Ëšrequire you to be fit and sure-footed. the past the 400 metre level, you suddenly get a view overmakes ridge towards the Kjerkfjord and that all the effort worthwhile.
We view the nex Stortinden (866 t peak: m).
Although it looks like power walking, in fact it’s total concentration. From a distance the rocks look like scree but close up they are massive, moss-covered boulders with deep clefts, jagged and slippery. Down in the crevices you can hear the water rushing. It seems as if everything is flowing.
The luxuriant and inviting moss almost beats the comfort of our beds at home. With about 22 hours of daylight, there are other things to do at night apart from sleeping.
C’mon everybody! With the sun shining we set off for Myrland.

Getting rid of excess energy!
Passed with flying colours! We remain dry despite jumping in puddles and being exposed to a good proportion of the average annual rainfall.

Andi and Mareike join us and take off on a kayak trip along the coast of Mortsund. Meanwhile, the rain has stopped and it has cleared up for the time being.
The first trip of the new group.
On Kvalvika beach: Is this really rock climbing? The slipperiness and gradient make it nigh impossible but we’re allowed climbing aids which are thankfully to hand.

RENEGADE XT JACKET This weatherproof jacket’s wow factor: the breathable yet windproof and waterproof TEXAPORE AIR O2+ material goes into action exactly when needed! The more you move and sweat, the more sweat is wicked away. A “thinking” lightweight weatherproof.
Our favourites ELECTRON SOFTSHELL A genuine lightweight soft shell with superb compact pack size! The jacket is windproof with back and side inserts giving potentially even more breathability. Weight: 240 g (Size M, Women) 310 g (Size L, Men)
ACTIVATE PANTS These soft shell trousers are a must-have on our trips: they provide all the freedom of movement required (even when climbing), are extremely breathable and also wind-repellent and rain-repellent. So, don’t forget them!
HIGHLAND TRAIL WOMEN/MEN The HIGHLAND TRAIL is particularly suited for multi-day trips. A main compartment plus a base compartment, lots of side pockets and pouches make for easy pack organisation. The rucksack is available in different sizes and in a men’s and women’s version.
for the trip: CROSSHIKE MID TEXAPORE WOMEN/MEN The CROSSHIKE MID is light and very comfortable. Its waterproof yet exceptionally breathable TEXAPORE O3 membrane always kept our feet dry.
PYRAMID TARP Great for small groups: the PYRAMID TARP is big enough for four people to sleep in comfort and also for sitting in. Another plus: the tent can be put up and taken down quickly.
