The work offers a unique perspective of The Golden Mile while paying homage to the vision of Singapore’s pioneer architects, through the juxtaposition of what once was an architectural possibility and the reality of its actual outcome.

It sheds light on the idealistic conception of a utopian imagination; the left being a fantastical creation of an ambitious linear city (which was to be named The Golden Mile Stretch) influenced by Japanese metabolism, where its interlinked multipurpose spaces are self-sufficient and vibrant with life. The right, however, is a singular Golden Mile Complex standing amidst skyscrapers and rapid urbanization, an emblem of a city corridor of tomorrow ultimately left unrealized.
