HOW TO MAKE: A BRIGHT WATERCOLORED TOUCAN A STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION GUIDE
1
STEP #1:
Let’s begin! Start by laying out all of your materials for the project. You will have everything you need!
STEP #3:
Begin following the how to draw instructions. Start with step 1.
STEP #5:
Next, get out your watercolor and fill the cup with water. We’re about to begin painting. 2
STEP #2:
Next, grab your Watercolor Pad and How to Draw book and turn to page 11.
STEP #4:
Complete step 1 through 6 and your Toucan should be ready for watercolor!
STEP #6:
First, paint the Toucan’s neck yellow. However, if you would like to choose a different color you can.
STEP #7:
Next, paint around the eye area a blue color. Remember to wash your brush in between colors!
STEP #9:
Once you have outlined the beak in green, fill the inside of the beak with orange and red.
STEP #11:
After you have painted the Tucan black, you can go back and add smaller strokes for hair.
STEP #8:
Now begin painting the edges of the Tucan’s beak green. We’re about to make it colorful!
STEP #10:
It’s time to paint the body! Wash your brush and begin painting the body black.
STEP #12:
Since the yellow is dry, you can also go back and add a little bit of orange hair on top of the yellow. 3
STEP #13:
Now dip back into the black paint but add a little more water. This will make his feet gray.
STEP #15:
Now that you have finished painting your Toucan, you can start painting your background blue.
STEP #17:
If you would like, feel free to sign the top of your watercolor picture with your name! 4
STEP #14:
Once the feet are painted, you can begin painting the branch brown.
STEP #16:
You can now grab your sharpie and begin outlining your Tucan how you would like.
STEP #18:
And... now you are all done with your watercolored Toucan! Great job!
