Sanetha Townsend Graphic Design Portfolio
Hello there!
Thanks so much for picking up my portfolio! This portfolio represents a journey of my student work at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Ventifact
Introduction Ventifact is a monthly trade journal for Geologist and geology lovers alike. This piece was made during the spring of 2019. It was the first Trade Journal that I made and I had a great time making the text work with the layout of this piece. The hard part was getting the text to align with the imagery, but once I got the two to work, it became one of my favorite projects to do!
Noir
Packaging, Illustration
Introduction Noir was a piece that was very new to me. I have never hand crafted a bottle carrier before and I was a bit put off by that. However, I never knew that making it would be as fun as it was! The project was to design a bottle package based off certain years that was given. I chose to do the 1940s and fell in love with the noir style in Hollywood during that time. This piece is also brought in my love for typography an illustration.
Emerald Damned
Packaging, Illustration
Introduction Emerald Damned is one of the first pieces I had in illustration in which I had to brand a product. The challenge was to design a face for either whiskery, ginger ale, or root beer. I chose to do whiskey because of how the type flowed on the bottle. I had fun with this project because it gave me room to explore what type can do around illustration.
Paphos Coffee
Print, Packaging
Introduction Paphos Coffee is a multi step piece that challenged me to brand, design, and create packaging for a different demographic that was not in the USA. The challenge with this project was to correctly capture and brand the country of choice as if it was designed there. This piece challenged me to think of multiple outcomes that I was not accustomed to. I learned a lot about branding and this project helped me grow because of the branding difficulty.

Bali
Print, Illustration
Introduction Bali is another multi step project in which we had to brand and capture a different county of our choice. This time we were to create a travel poster series and a travel guide that can effectively capture the beauty of the country that we where trying to promote. I had tons of fun with this project because I was able to illustrate the architecture of the buildings in Bali. I also learned so much about the country and was taken away by the vast scenery and waters there; and so I wanted to capture that in my posters and travel guide.
“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” - Albert Einstein
Moore’s Bikes
Photoshop, Ads
Introduction Moore’s Bikes is a piece in which we were to re-brand an existing local company. This project was challenging because I had to work with what has already been established. It became an eye opener to me that I can re-brand a company and make it new by looking at the foundation and how it came to be. With that in mind, I branded Moore’s Bikes from an 80’s aesthetic from the year that it was founded. Once I did that this project became much more easier.
Architektura
Branding
Introduction Architektura was the hardest piece I had to work with. It was my very first attempt at branding. What made this project so hard was that we had to create an entire company and then brand it ourselves. This was exciting at first, but then I learned that there was so much to put into branding from the logo to the type and how it is used in relation to other projects. My take away from this project is that it takes a lot of planning to reach a certain goal for branding a project.
The Client
Introduction The client is one of my favorite pieces because of my love for books. John Grisham has been a favorite of mine since I was in middle school. For this project we were to make a book cover of an existing authors work. It was the beginning of 2018 and it was my first time using Photoshop. I had a lot of fun with the program to design this piece.
The Wasteland
Print, Illustration
Introduction The Wasteland is another piece in which we had to design a cover for an existing authors work of our choosing. This time we were to completely illustrate the piece. The challenge was to not use anything digital to create this piece. I used watercolor and ink to on painters paper to create this illustration. The book cover came out nicely for the haunting theme of this series.
Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Forgotten Books Series
Print, Illustration
Introduction
The Forgotten Book Series is my current stage of print design for a book cover. The piece was another multi-step project in which we had to design an entire book series and then design promotional pieces to promote the book. I chose to do a series of posters and a postcard kit.

Jody’s Bakery
Web design
Introduction Jody’s Bakery is a piece in which we were to design and re-brand the website of an existing local establishment. I chose to do this and brand based off their colors of the mascot. This was one of my fist attempts at using Adobe xd to create and brand a website. I had a lot of fun with this piece as well.
Ease Mobile Game
Mobile AP, Illustration
Introduction Ease mobile game was my senior capstone in which we were to create and brand our own product with a product and solution to solve. I chose to design a mobile game that was used to help people dealing with stress and anxiety. I used calming colors, type, and imagery to create a solution to help that demographic of people. I made more collateral pieces such as posters and pocket socket designs to help expand my project.
