PROBLEM
SENIOR CAPSTONE | PROCESS BOOK
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Students, Teachers, and Proffesionals found themselves turning to online methods to continue doing their jobs and to continue their educational goals. However, this called for increased screen time in front of the computer screen, and phone for everyone. A sharp increase from what individuals typically already do. Research has found that the blue-light we encounter from the screen not only can strain our eyes and cause trouble sleeping, but, it poses negative effects for our skin as well. We see this in the form of the advancment of our skin aging, hyperpigmentation, and DNA damage.

After further reasearch, I found the simplest way to fight the negative effects of blue light on the skin is to brand a skin care line geared towards spreading awareness about said issue. Why should people care? Using these products will provide the protection needed for their skin to keep a youthful appearance longer and avoid potentially devestating consequences from prolonged exposure.

Word List
The final color pallet consisted of the colors yellow, pink, and blue. Yellow was chsen for it’s known association with freshness, happiness, warmth, and brightness. Bright yellow is also known for its attention-grabbing qualities. The next color chosen for the brand was pink which is often associated with femininity. Other words and emotions tied with pink include joyful, vibrant, and refreshing. As a brand geared towards women, this color worked perfectly. Lastly, the final color chosen for the brand was blue. The reasoning behind this coincides with the fact that blue reminds you of the cool, crisp, waters of the sea. Blue is also another bold attention-grabbing color with shelf presence. When you see the color blue, you begin to think of the hydrating qualities and moisturizing qualities of water as well. Meanings behind the color blue that represent the brand as well include cleanliness and serenity.
