Firstly, taking Villa LaRoche and mirroring it, gave me a courtyard and a lot of ideas about how to approach it. Then, combining the sectional parti from the Radiant city in 3 dimensions created a number of modern, isolated yet communal units.
Push/pull operations create dynamic indoor and outdoor spaces Provides natural lighting into all spaces
6. Results:
Two interlocking ‘L’s Seen in both plan and setion
4 unique and distinct modern units with views on to the park and courtyard, as well as dynamic indoor and outdoor two-story spaces.
Structure is centeralized on two party walls. It opens as it directs attention to the courtyard and park.
Vertical circuation is along party walls Horizontal circulation is around court.
Dark/poche servant spaces abut party walls Light, open served spaces surround court.
