Just imagine Tax Credits & Politics As I write this, Canadians are about to go to the polls and fortunately for homeowners at least, some good news will be forthcoming no matter which party ends up in power. The Conservatives, New Democrats and Liberals, have all pledged to introduce some type of renovation tax credit for homeowners, a move that could not come at a better time. The Harper Government appears intent on bringing back its popular EcoEnergy Retrofit program, first announced in the 2011-2012 federal budget, which ultimately triggered the election, while the NDP and Liberal initiatives would see homeowners receive substantial tax breaks for energyefficient renovations. Politicians are realizing what we in the home renovation industry have known for years: Canadian homeowners are environmentally aware, but clearly it helps if an incentive could be forthcoming. An Angus Reid Public Opinion survey conducted in mid-March on behalf of Bosch Home Appliances revealed that 76% of Canadians say that a tax credit would impact their decision to make an environmentally efficient upgrade to their home. As for the type of projects they intended

Becoming green, one leaf at a time.
A Green Home While there is no commonly accepted definition, a green home is one that minimizes the impact on human and natural environments. This can include actions to boost energy efficiency, reduce waste, improve indoor air quality, and use water more wisely.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCS) Potentially harmful carbon-based substance that evaporate easily into the atmosphere. They are often found in paints, caulks and adhesives, and they are typically identified by strong fumes. Materials with low-VOC content can reduce environmental damages, as well as exposure risks to the user and home occupants.
Over eight years ago, Z-coat was introduced to the Canadian marketplace in eggshell and semi-gloss. In 2005, we developed the flat finish.
