Healthy coral reefs are among the most biologically diverse, culturally significant, and economically valuable ecosystems on Earth. They provide billions of dollars in food, jobs, recreational opportunities, coastal protection, and other important goods and services to people around the world. As modernization is taking place throughout the whole world it has been clearly visible that how it has worked in global context as metropolitan cities are developing day to day because of which global temperature raising is happening which is making the scenario even more worse.

Mineral Accretion Technology Also called ‘Biorock Technology’, it is a method that applies safe, low voltage electrical currents through seawater, causing dissolved minerals to crystallize on structures, growing into a white limestone (CaCo3) similar to that which naturally makes up coral reefs and tropical white sand beaches.

Green Urban Revival Year 2020

Type Academic Urban design intervention

Average land surface temperature of the Srirangam River Island has been significantly raising up to 1.2°C for every 10 years. The maximum temprature that raised on Sirangam in 2019 is about 41°C in the month of May.Which leads to Urban heat Island effect. Heat islands increase demand for air conditioning to cool buildings. electricity demand for air conditioning increased approximately 1–9% for each 2°F increase in temperature. This increase demand contributes to higher electricity expenses. Elevated Emissions of Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases, heat islands raise demand for electricity in summer. Companies that supply electricity typically rely on fossil fuel power plants to meet much of this demand, which in turn leads to an increase in air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions. Heat islands contribute to higher daytime temperatures, reduced nighttime cooling, and higher air-pollution levels. These, in turn, contrib-

The energy consumption of residential buildings must be reduced. In this respect, this method tries to introduce courtyard building as a passive and potentially effective way to minimise energy consumption in special regions and climates.
