In Brief Youth Merit award

Every year, African American students are presented with the opportunity to win an award called the Elizabeth Wesley Youth Merit Award. This merit is awarded to students who are in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Twenty four students from Emerald Ridge High School received the award on Oct. 12. A list of the merit winners can be found on the Puyallup School District website.

Ap class changes

Advanced Placement students are in for a change this year. Fortunately, when taking the AP test, 1/4 of a point will no longer be taken off for answering a question wrong. However, no points will be given unless the question is answered correctly.

class budgets

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all given their own budget to put on school events. The sophomores are putting on Tolo, juniors will be putting on Winter Formal, and seniors are put on Homecoming, Senior Ball, and King of the Hill t-shirts. For each grade level, their budget consists of how much your fellow class men fund raise for your events. Sophomores are currently standing at a zero dollar amount, juniors have roughly 700 and seniors are in the negative, owing the school 7,000. { Sydney Dawn - Reporter }

New District Changes The Puyallup School District is considering changing things here at ER

I

magine, for a short moment, Emerald Ridge High School without JAG-time or advisory and each student having six classes everyday. Along with this, not just a few, but all the freshmen from neighboring Glacier View Junior High School would attend ERHS for the entirety of each school day. School staff and district administration are discussing changes in scheduling, advisory, and grade arrangement. “When these changes are made depends on the scope of the changes,” Principal Brian Lowney said, “Completely school altering changes take time and others can happen at any time”. Having a block schedule for as long as three years, some students believe that such a change to the school day would be a tough and unwanted thing to get used to. “I would miss the block schedule and advisory,” junior Samantha Webber said. “I would hate having the same classes everyday. It’s overwhelming and all my homework would be due the next day.” Others say that JAG-time, if used properly, is a great way to get ahead in class, meet with teachers or catch up on missing work. “[JAG-time] gives me extra time to do work and understand it,” senior Emily Chavez said.

However, some teachers argue that students don’t take proper advantage of this learning opportunity and the time could be spent better inside a class period. “I wouldn’t mind seeing changes,” math teacher Rod Hart said. “A lot of students don’t use JAG time properly and therefore [it] goes to waste.” On the other hand, some teachers see the benefits of the two and a half hours of advisory a week. “I’m a huge supporter of advisory,” photography and yearbook teacher James Meyerhoff said. “My own kids have gone through this and have been successful.” The Puyallup School District is also considering making drastic changes to the grade system throughout the district. “The district has put together a study group to consider making high school grades nine through twelve and middle school six through eight,” Lowney said. This committee is looking into the complications and benefits attached to such a change. Changes include grade level arrangements will effect every aspect of the school and will be thoroughly discussed before any official alterations are made.

F

or nine years Matt White has been asking for a transfer to Puyallup High School and this year his request was granted. White was the Advanced Placement Government and Advanced Placement Psychology teacher at Emerald Ridge High School. Today, he is teaching Senior Social Studies, US History and Psychology at PHS. Coaching boys and girls soccer at PHS was not the only reason White left Emerald Ridge. White didn’t completely agree with the ERHS system. “I believe that students learn best in smaller time intervals daily, instead of an alternating block schedule for 90 minutes,” White said. White also views PHS as more academically concerned while ERHS seems to be more socially concerned. “Advisory at PHS is once a week for twenty minutes instead of the ERHS model in which students are allowed four hours a week of Advisory/Jag-time in which for most students is social, non academic time,” White said. Despite his opposing views, White did enjoy working at ERHS. “I left some good friends and colleagues who made my days at ERHS quite entertaining and full of levity,” White said. White was coaching the PHS soccer team while teaching at ERHS. But according to many of his students the affiliation with PHS did not affect how he was viewed by most ERHS students. “His class was really active,” junior Alli Mcleana said. “He talked to us as if he was another student.” For many students, White was their main motive for taking his class. “I’m immensely depressed,” senior Zach Albert said. “He was the only reason I took AP Government.” Since the move the classroom atmosphere has changed greatly. “Now the classroom has a lot more power points and lectures,” senior Dallan Coombs said. “Mr. White had a way of teaching not through the traditional ways but with his own unique spin. [White] liked to descend down to our level. He said things you would imagine a student saying. He made it fun.”

Matt White coaches girls soccer at Puyallup High School. Having this coaching position for several years affected his transfer from Emerald Ridge to Puyallup High School. White’s advisory was highly affected with the transfer to PHS. After having White as their advisor for two years they had to say goodbye to ‘Father White’. “Ever since sophomore year I’ve imagined White watching us at commencement, but I guess he’ll be there in spirit,” advisory member Spencer Norawong said. Leaving ERHS did cause a little mayhem at the beginning of the school year. With the students with a class but no teacher some adjusting had to be done. Emerald Ridge staff Mr. Mirk, Mr. Muelenbruch, and Mrs. Marmino have taken White’s place for the time being. “I’m both happy and sad,” Lowney said. “I’m happy for Mr. White to be able to coach and teach at the same building. But I’m sad for staff and students”. { Maddie Stutz - Sports Editor }

Minor Annoyances Real Life 3D

Undying Love

If only I could snag myself some of those sweet, sweet 3-D movie glasses and poke out the lenses, then I’d be cool. It’s such a huge bummer that I Aubrey Kendall have clear vi{ Copy Editor } sion. All those lucky kids who wake up to blurred darkness every morning must be so stoked! Well, at least whoever invented the 3-D movie has my back. I’m just like any other overly made-up girl on a normal school day, but on nerd day I’m calculator-chic! I’ll wear tight, tiny shorts and some sporty knee socks and I’ll make sure to put my hair in pigtails too, since all real nerds look like they’re about to be photographed for Maxim. Snooki would approve. Of course I won’t forget my glasses (no lenses and I’ll put tape around the middle so it’ll have a nice librarian/Harry Potter kind of feel to it). I’ll make a trip to Party City, by the old Safeway, to buy the hot pink neon tape, in my my matching pink convertible. So hot, If I look as super-über cute as I plan on looking, then I’ll most-def be going to Transformers 4&4/3’s Revenge of Megan Fox’s

Dearest Edward, I love you. I love you. I love you and I know you love me too. The way your dark eyes look at me, the way your pale, white Billiemarie Klein skin sparkles { Features Editor } in the sun, like fairy dust, the way you read my thoughts, and the way you stand outside my house and watch me while I sleep lets me know that you care. I am not ashamed of our love. In fact, I am quite proud of it. Your name and face are plastered on all of my Hot Topic gear, not Jacob’s because I know that Jacob isn’t my eternal soul mate like you, dearest Edward. Jacob doesn’t sing and play ‘Bellamarie’s Lullaby’ like you do, handsome. Only you can make me fall in love with your beautiful words, deep from your soul. This summer I drove four hours all the way to come visit you in your hometown of Forks. The skies were dark and the rain fell and fell and fell and you were nowhere to be found. I know you said that a long distance relationship would be difficult, but it’s okay, you are worth every ounce of pain I go through

Plastic Surgeon in my outfit. The movie is in 3-D, so I can get another pair of glasses and show off my cute little self to all those hunky boys! I hope nobody offers me any Junior Mints, I already ate a whole bagel today. Okay, so weirdest thing ever: did you know that 3-D movies are in 3-D? Like, they’re like real life. Because, you know, when I gaze at myself in the bathroom mirror, it’s in 3-D and when I chew brainlessly on my pencil in English, it’s in 3-D. So, like, it’s almost like by going to a 3-D movie, there is less of an escape from reality than with 2-D movies, since EVERY DAY IS IN 3-D. It’s almost like Hollywood is capitalizing on my shallow thinking and eagerness to rejoice over the newest, flashiest marketing ploy and making a colossal amount of money off me. Wow, now that I think about it, 3-D movies give me headaches and my friend, Judy Come, always has to put her cute 3-D glasses over her real glasses. I guess that might be kind of uncomfortable. Someone smart should think about how we pay almost two times more for 3-D movies and all we get in return is cross-eyed and punched in the face by a blurry Matt Damon. Anyways, who cares, my mommy and my poppa-bear pay for it with their bouncy ball empire and Tahitian juice conglomerate. Anyways, more importantly than all this thinking: Back to how adorable I look in my hipster-nerd glasses!

It is eternal love, one that never dies, just like you, my sparkling gem. I wanted to tackle them just like Jasper and Emmett would, but I didn’t think Dr. Carlisle and Mrs. Esme Cullen would approve of my actions. I stayed up all night just to come support you this summer when Eclipse premiered. I arrived at the theatre five hours beforehand just so I could be with you. Edward, you look so pale, sparkly and beautiful on the big screen—I screamed every time I saw you. At night, I look at the collage of your face that covers every square inch of my room. I whisper sweet things into your cold ears, caressing your face, giving you butterfly kisses with my eye lashes. I recite every word from New Moon, slowly savoring your precious words, because every word you say to me is unforgettable and flawless. I hate seeing Bella’s name because I know it’s a lie, you don’t love her like you love me. So I sit in my room, alone at night and add on ‘marie’ to everything that says Bella. I love you. Kitty Got Claw T

his season of Emerald Ridge High School football is transpiring in a very different manner than previous seasons. For the past seven years, the Jaguar football team has been known for little more than accumulating a series of consecutive losing seasons and a spiritless school reluctantly backing an unsuccessful program. “It sucked,” said senior Eric Beier. “Even with the lowest expectations you didn’t get anything. It wasn’t even a fun experience”. But in this 2010 season, something has changed in the dynamics of the school and its team. The new team started this year with a well known coaching change. Vince Tarsi, the former ERHS football head coach who resigned last year, was replaced by not just one new coach, but by an entire staff of coaches. The position Tarsi once held is split between five individuals, all of whom agreed to submit their application as one conglomerate. With such a significant change, many players felt optimistic about the new season. “We have a clean slate,” said senior player Kyler Osborne. The team and student body were highly optimistic about the change. Many students and players looked forward to a season more rewarding then the previous year’s 0-10 record. The first game was on Sept. 4 against Beamer High School, and the team took an early lead their first glimpse of what a victorious game might look like. But, as the game continued, their initial hopes of victory were crushed as Beamer came back and stole victory with a final score of 42/7. “We actually scored,” said sophomore Maveryke Hines. “The team is getting better.” The loss didn’t have the same effect as it always did. In fact, nobody seemed to dwell on the loss. “This year is a rebuilding year and I think we’ll do better,” said Beier. But the scoreboard wasn’t the only thing that had changed. It quickly became apparent to the student body that what the coaches had been working on wasn’t just the performance of the football players but also their performance as human beings and students. “It’s a completely different team and program,” said senior football captain Tyler McBride. “The coaches have had a huge impact in my life on the field and off.” As the season progressed, victories seemed just out of the team’s reach, but with higher scores than seen in years of Jaguar football, a new spirit has grown in the

hearts of ERHS students. “Even though we’re losing, the student body has more spirit and energy,” said Osborne. Many students have also noticed a significant change in the feeling of the student body at school functions. “During assemblies there’s more spirit,” said sophomore football player Zach Wolfe. “If [the student body] is seeing the culture change, they’re behind us”. The game against Puyallup High School seemed hopeless to some students. After a series of strong offensive plays by the Jags, ERHS led the game into halftime for the first time all season, 20-3. After withholding a severe push by PHS offense, the game came to its conclusion, and proved that ERHS work had paid off. The game ended, 20/17, ERHS’ first victory in two years. The team was visibly ecstatic. “We’re building a foundation,” said McBride. The team is certainly making progress. The change in pace from their period of losses to this new found victory was so drastic, the ERHS football team even earned a place in the “Go Figure” section of the Oct. 18 issue of Sports Illustrated. They may not end with a winning season, but they are certainly setting a standard. “I’m just happy we have something to cheer for now,” said Beier. { Josh Bozich - Reporter }

Despite everything Johnson has been through, she remains as

outgoing and optimistic as always and has a greater appreciation for life. “I am thankful for everyday,” Johnson said. “I realize now how much of a privilege it is to be alive.” With all her chemo appointments and other medical care, it is difficult for Johnson to be as involved as she would like. As a captain of the cheer squad, being able to cheer at every game is a large priority. “Through all the obstacles that have been put in her path she has not once given up hope and most importantly given up on our cheer team,” senior cheer captain Danielle Russell said, “She has shown so much dedication to our team and has been an amazing role model for those girls. The team is so honored to have her as one of our captains.” Kaitie’s relationship with her family has remained strong as well. “We have definitely been brought together. We don’t fight as much as we used to and respect and appreciate each other a lot more,” Johnson said.

Many of Johnson’s friends have been supportive through her recovery. Her upbeat and positive attitude through it all it truly inspiring to those around her. “As Kaitie’s coach and teacher, I have been completely blown away by her positive attitude,” english teacher and cheer coach Katie Aguilar said, “She has never once let her illness be an excuse to not give 100 percent. She has handled this life situation with such grace that I feel myself and the whole squad have learned from positive attitude and actions.” With potentially two more rounds of chemo to go, Kaitie Johnson will have conquered what many see as the ultimate hardship. She wants others to know that cancer does not always have to be as bad as media can portray. She is someone many can look up to as a model of strength and a positivity that effects everyone around her. { Milena McLaren - A & E Editor }

arlton Luppy, Emerald Ridge High School senior and Hypokritz star, is a crowd-please. Not one for swallowing swords or spitting fire, Luppy has found a less ridiculous, yet extravagant way to stick out. Luppy was born Nov. 8, 1992 with brown eyes and brown hair, stands a towering 6’5” and is currently unemployed. The generic facts about Luppy end there. “I really do enjoy high school,” Luppy said. “It’s my last year so it might as well be worth it.” Always the busy student, Luppy is making the best out of his senior year. Even though he may struggle with earning all of his community service hours for graduation, Luppy still has time for himself. Recently that time has been used to write “Carlton The Play,” a piece he hopes will be performed in this year’s Senior One Acts. In a half hour one can get a glimpse of Luppy’s life story filled with misery, happiness and hardships. Despite the past events, Luppy is a profoundly funny-man, and he knows it. “Being funny comes naturally,” said Luppy. As a member of Hypokritz, ERHS comedy troupe, Luppy can be seen promoting shows at lunches or performing in skits. Surprisingly, Luppy is indifferent to the possi-

Warm, snuggie-wearing, kind-hearted, wigsporting, octopus hat-wearing, lovable, comical, magical, Hypokritical, fluffy, Carlton. bility of a career as a traditional comedian. Having no affinity for the pressures of stand-up comedy, Luppy said he found sketches and scripts much more appealing. Contrary to the complaints of boredom and lack of entertainment, that can be heard from most kids in Puyallup, Carlton says it is not the best place he has been, but he likes it. “Childhood had its ups and downs, with a lot of misery in between,” Luppy said. When he was eight, a close relative of Luppy’s lost their life, an event he says inspires his acting. Along with becoming stronger Luppy appreciates life more now than ever. “My family doesn’t do much, and I don’t want to be like that,” said Luppy Luppy doesn’t see a settled lifestyle as one that implies laziness. His eyes set on college, Luppy plans to attend Western Washington University. Afterwords Luppy plans on making and selling his own leather coats. Not entirely motivated by money, Luppy also wants to donate the coats to less-thanfortunate punks. Luppy also finds culture outside the United States much more appealing than here. Fluent in the language, he hopes to one day visit Germany. As far as high school goes, Luppy enjoys the maturity.

“My least favorite part of high school would be sophomores thinking they are top-dogs, and their complaining,”said Luppy. The best high-school memory for Luppy was winning Homecoming King. “I truly thought I wouldn’t win,” Luppy said. “I thought ‘no I can’t be this popular, where did I get all this support from?’ At other schools I was disliked and I don’t know why.” With Luppy’s interview punctuated by numerous ‘hi’s’ and ‘hello’s’ from students, dislike from ER students seems impossible. “If more people were like Carlton Luppy, school would be more fun, with less pressure. Everybody tries to be like each other and nobody tries to be different,” said junior Hanna Borgen. With that said, Luppy and Borgen may have the same view; not every day has to be a serious one. After admitting that although he does like the attention, Luppy notes that getting attention is not what his actions are all about. His true purpose is to make others happy. “It’s cool having people get along with me because I do things that aren’t ‘normal, but having people yell your name is obnoxious. Other people deserve attention too.” {Amaya Adams - Reporter }

“It’s cool hanging out with people I didn’t at Viaduct. There was never a chance there before.”

“Give people a place to be themselves without any judgement and to forget about life’s daily problems

Viaduct closed its doors July 31, 2010 due to a lack of funds. For a month and a half people in the Tacoma music scene were without a local, all ages venue. On September 15, 2010 Jeremy Bushnell, former co-owner of Viaduct, opened the doors to the temporary teen art/event center known as Red Room. “We will do music, art, movies, hangouts and a lot more,” Bushnell said. “We are operating out of this space until we find an actual venue.” Red Room’s location is nothing like Viaduct. It’s a lot more intimate because of the size, in a better location for parking and will be operated differently. The building Viaduct was in was made for big events. 60% of the time half of the venue wasn’t being used. Parking around Viaduct was limited and the venue was strictly a music venue. No other events were held. “I liked the place a lot because parking was easier,” senior Alex Thompson said. “It also had a more friendly vibe and makes me want to go back.” So far only a few shows have been held but there have been many opportunities to hangout and numerous movie nights. It’s a safe place for anyone to go, make new friends and have a good time playing Halo Reach. “I’ve been there three times,” senior David Reiman said. “It’s cool hanging out with people I didn’t get to at Viaduct. There was never a chance to before.” Viaduct was mainly a hardcore and punk venue. Bushnell is hoping to find a different Tacoma venue for all ages that will host a wide spectrum of music. The owner wants Red Room and the second, perma-

nent venue to be comfortable places. “There are so many good bands and kids with so much talent and creativity that have nowhere to show it and I want to help turn that around,” Bushnell said. Reiman, the lead vocalist for local ERHS band Athena, says he really wants to play at Red Room. Alex Thompson said his band mates in Lurk Nasty, that also attend Emerald Ridge as well, feel the same way. “I like the space a lot because it’s small and it’s hard not to be five feet from the mosh pit,” Reiman said. Bushnells’ plan for the teen center is to get more involved in schools and the community, whether it’s having a place to go after school, to complete volunteer hours or playing in bands. Currently, Red Room is open Thursday through Sunday. As word gets out and more programs are set up, Red Room will be open more during the week after school hours. The same goes for the future venue. “No one that runs or operates Red Room or any place that is started next is any different than anyone else,” Bushnell said. “We are the people standing next to you watching, singing along and dancing to bands. We play in bands and we are just like everyone else in that room.” This goal is what the owner and co-owners of Red Room want to accomplish with their current venues and others to come. Give people a place to be themselves without any judgment and to forget about life’s daily problems. Everyone is there for the same reason, no matter what the look or the sound. { Kate Meyer - Reporter }

The hype for this movie was so amped up. There was not one station that Jackass trailers and commercials did not link to, so going into this movie I had high expectations. Needless to say, my expectations for absurdity and disgust were met very quickly as the movie began; Moe was happy. This movie has a sort of simplicity and innocence to it. After 10 years of comedic jackass-ery, this movie is the last great installment of the Jackass phenomenon. Of course, there was blood, puke, and other stuff, in 3-D, coming right at you, but it was so nostalgic in a weird gagging sort of way. I remembered watching the show and first movie when I was 12, so seeing them make another hilarious movie brings back so many memories. I loved most that the stunts were original and that they were creative; such as the “poo-cocktail supreme” or the “snake river redemption”. The movie even revisited old stunts from their earliest shows and their effort increased, making the outcome of their stunts to be 100 times better. It was definitely worth the money that was spent to see the movie. { Moe Herbert }

It’s Kind of a Funny Story

As a part of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Nev and Rel, brothers living in New York, document the relationship Nev builds with a Michigan family through Facebook in “Catfish”. As Nev and Megan’s, a girl in the family, relationship builds, some odd behaviors cause Nev to become suspicious of Megan and the family. The boys decide to visit the family. They then find out the truth about Megan, and the family. With the documentary under movie critics’ scrutiny for not being a true documentary, Nev, Rel and the others involved made it clear this was a true documentary that filmed the growing relations Nev had day by day. Nothing was planned, which became obvious in the last 45 minutes. It is a shocking conclusion that neither the men in the film or the audience anticipates. I enjoyed the honesty of the men’s reactions, they took the audience on the same journey they went through. As the finished the entire theater sat in silence, taking in, and trying to make sense of what they had just witnessed. Definitely a first in documentary history. { Milena McLaren }

Over the weekend I went to see “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” which is an interesting film about a troubled boy. The main character, Craig, played by Keir Gilchrist, is a teenager with depression. Sunday morning Craig wakes up and rides his bicycle to the mental institution because he feels they can help him with his depression. Craig meets a patient named Bobby shortly after arriving who is there because he tried to commit suicide multiple times. While at the mental institution he starts to like a girl named Noelle who is played by Emma Roberts. This movie is a comedy but also has a gripping and interesting plot and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes an amazing movie. I like how they took something sad and made it into a comedy. The movie should have explained some parts better. At the end they should have showed where everyone ended up. Over all, it ended up being a very good movie, with a good plot. There was impressive acting.It felt like a film that was based on a true story, not at all a fictitious film. { Ryan Chavez }

Heavy Heavy Low LowTurtle Nipple and the Toxic Shock Wild and rambunctious and actually entertaining. It was very creative. I mean the name says it all. They have a different and unique way to please their listeners. With eerie instrumentals that play into the songs, its cool too see a band switch things up.

Tommy Nas- Illmatic A thug poet who brings the realism of the life he lives in the New York streets through audio. Illmatic is really just a rugged street hip-hop album. One of the illest MC’s of our generation. Nas is the Malcom X of hip-hop, just given a pen, pad and a microphone.

Modest Mouse- Interstate 8 An odd and different delivery crossed between wit and an electrifying voice. Modest Mouse brings out of the loop sounds, which can be liked by different listeners who are into different styles of music. Modest Mouse tends too remain at their best when they stick to their own original ways of making music.

Blithe- Self-titled EP Although it’s a rough demo, their is potential within the group. A mix of two different singers that I don’t think sit very well with the dull instruments. There is still more for them to work on yet, but every band has been through this phase at the beginning of their careers. Nas - Illmatic It’s been a long time since I have really listened to Nas but I have to say that I am loving this album. “Illmatic” is coming straight from the early 1990’s, so it still has some of that grit and grime that early hip-hop once had. I love this album because the lyrics and beats are real, no bubblegum, watered-down hip-hop like nowadays. Nas-Illmatic, definitely a must buy! HeavyHeavyLowLow Turtle Nipple and the Toxic Shock This album is just so weird but I think that’s what makes this band so appealing to me. Off rhythm drumming, spastic guitar riffs, death gut screams, and cut throat lyrics. If your into something weird but still want something heavy, this album is a must have!

Blithe- Self-titled EP I’m not really a fan of this CD. I understand that it’s a local group but it doesn’t really tickle my fancy. The Nickelback vocals and the simple guitar melodies aren’t too attractive to me. I hate to be blunt but I could have listened to Creed. All I have to say, is to keep on practicing guys!

Modest Mouse - Interstate 8 Modest Mouse makes me so happy. It’s simple but still complex and great to listen to. This album is the type I would listen to if I was on a bike ride during a sunny Washington day. What I love most is that they are still well known but not so much to the point where they must change the way they format and construct their songs to please a larger audience.

Heavy Heavy Low LowTurtle Nipple and the Toxic Shock They are a very hardcore rock group that creates fast and loud music at the same time. Heavy Heavy Low Low is not the kind of music I listen to on average because the heavy strumming makes it too difficult to understand what they say. This selection is just not my style but it would be good music to listen to if you are angry or mad. Blithe- Self-titled EP They are a band from our school that creates soft rock music. Their music is similar to groups such as Coldplay and U2. Its great music if you are trying to just relax or fall asleep. It made me want to listen more because of their relaxing feeling. Modest Mouse- Interstate 8 They are a band that makes a mixture of both slow and fast rock music. Its generally the kind of music I would listen to because of their fun and entertainment kind of style and its great for people that like a different variety of rock. It’s both enthusiastic and relaxing as the singers have clear voices that is easy and fun to listen to. It’s the kind of band that makes me want to listen to more and more of there kind of music. Heavy Heavy Low Low Turtle Nipple and the Toxic Shock If you’re into post hardcore/experimental you will like Heavy Heavy Low Low. Their guitarist is good, his solos were creative. They change their sound a lot.

Nas- Illmatic I think Nas is a fast and serious rapper. His music is original and old school as you just have to listen to the actual words and what he has to say. The style of Nas gives off a fast, upbeat and entertaining feel. His words are very simplistic and easy to listen to. His music creates a mellow enviornment and encourages me to listen to his rap more and more.

Zach

Nas- Illmatic I did not care for his music. It did not seem original. Unless you’re into harder rap, this is not for you. Modest Mouse- Interstate 8 I like their change of pace. They went from relaxing music that would make you fall asleep to something that would wake you up. The way they did their music was interesting. Blithe - Self-titled EP Blithe’s vocalist Maveryke Hines’ voice is very unique. Randy Cherland’s drumming with Maveryke’s guitar playing fits perfectly together. I especially enjoyed their cover of Hazy with Shelby Stewart. Her voice is amazing. I look forward to hearing more from them.
