Definition: Leftover bits of cloth. Sentence: We used scraps to make a family quilt.


NEEDLES

Ne e dle s Definition: Small, thin tools used for sewing. Sentence: She used a needle and thread to mend her pants.

Definition: Not real or natural. Fake. Sentence: The Christmas tree is artificial.


BABUSHKA

Ba bus hka Definition: A woman’s head scarf; from the Russian word meaning “grandmother.” Sentence: Mother wore a blue babushka when she went shopping.

Definition: Being very poor. Sentence: There are people in Africa living in poverty.
