Helping new Everyday Minerals customers find their perfect shades and products at one of our in-store demos! At Everyday Minerals, we love everything that Whole Foods stands for. Their stores incorporate such a wonderful assortment of products, and I love that they carry foods that actually expire! I am also fond of the size and feel of their stores, and always get such an approachable, cozy and positive vibe from them. Not to mention, we share many of the same core ideals with Whole Foods. From firmly opposing animal testing to a dedication to organic, natural products, and also micro credit lending. We’ve done this for several years with Kiva.org, and fully support it. Overall, we just feel such a wonderful synergy with them! Plus, the Domain location in particular offers a wonderfully vibrant and diverse shopping experience for their local Austin community. Whole Foods Market - Domain is located at 11920 Domain Drive, Austin Texas, 78758 and is open from 8am-10pm seven days a week. We can’t wait to see you there! Xo, Carina

There's nothing like soft waves and a loose side braid to make you feel oh-so romantic. Add in a few dreamy flowers, and you're ready for a bright spring day! Shop the inspiration: The Rose Collection Start with your hair down in loose waves. Skip the curling iron and just spritz your hair and wear it in a bun for a day! Take down and finger curl the waves away from your face.

Begin with a basic, reverse french braid on one side, wrapping around to finish on the opposite side of your head. Don't worry if it's not perfect, it's supposed to be messy! Need some help learning how to do a reverse braid?

Finish by pulling out sections of the braid to make it loose and messy, starting at the bottom and working your way to the top. Finish by pinning in flowers (we also used some Rose bobby pins)

These hand-made, all natural decorative soaps are so beautiful and fresh. Not to mention so very easy to make. It's the perfect way to use leftover roses, just pull a few petals off for the soaps and dry the rest! Keep them for yourself or give them away as a thoughtful, inexpensive gesture. Shop the spring color inspiration: The Rose Collection

What you'll need: An all-natural soap base, we used Stephenson's clear suspending, so we could layer the flowers throughout the bar. Dried flowers and herbs of your choice (press the rose petals in a book for a couple of days before use) Soap Mold of your choosing Essential oils of your choice (We used Rose and Lavender) Beet Juice for coloring if wanted

Directions: Cut soap base into small pieces and place in a pan over boiling water to melt. You can also microwave the base on high for about 30 seconds. Stir in essential oils of your choice. 1-2 drops is more than enough, oils are very strong and can be overpowering. Make sure to stir slowly. Place petals in the bottom of soap mold and pour base on top. Use one of your flower stems to press the petals down into the base as they tend to float to the top.

converted by Web2PDFConvert.com

You can do a layering technique to arrange flowers throughout the bar by pouring a thin layer of base, letting it dry for about 20 minutes, then placing additional flowers. Repeat process until you get your desired look. If you want to color to your soap base, add a small amount of the beet juice which will give the soap a pinky tint (we did this on our final layer.) Let harden for at least an hour. We put ours in the fridge to speed up the process a bit. They should be completely cool and come out of the molds easily. If they don't, let them cool a bit longer.

Voila! Easy, beautiful soaps! We are so in love with them we put them all around the office!

Inspired by the beautiful new blushes from our Rose collection, we've compiled all of our rose beauty tips from around the office. Turns out, roses aren't just pretty to look at, there are tons of skincare benefits as well! Shop the new blushes here

Clockwise from top: Primrose, Field of Roses, Tea Rose and Fresh Rose Blossom Blushes.

1. Roses are a great natural anti-aging tool. FIlled with anti-oxidants and vitamins, roses are a great way to protect against harmful environmental factors, keeping your skin supple and healthy.

2. And the ultimate skin balancer. Used as an emollient for dry skin, an astringent for acne-prone skin and an anti-inflammatory for sensitive skin, it covers all the bases to keep your complexion smooth.

3. Let's not forget about aromatherapy. Stress has a direct effect on the look and feel of your skin. Using the relaxation benefits of breathing in Rose oils and fragrances can help keep your skin and psyche balanced.

Try these tips to incorporate roses into your beauty routine. A steam facial: Great for leaving skin looking hydrated and feeling clean, putting some rose oil and/or petals in a steam facial is the perfect way to relax and refresh after a long day. Add a drop of rose oil to your daily moisturizer: It is intensely concentrated, so you will get major benefits from a small amount, plus the smell is divine. Use rose water as a face tonic: It's safe and gentle and provides calming, soothing and moisturizing benefits, perfect for using on top of the rose blushes to keep skin looking supple and glowy.

It seems like every time we turn around there's someone giving us a new rule for what to do or what not to do with our makeup. Here are some common beauty myths that are definitely no-go's, no matter the time or place.

1. “Don’t worry if you can’t swatch your Base on your face, use your inner wrist instead.” Forget the build-up, we’re starting with the worst of the offenders. This is not an accurate way to test your foundation shade, and we can almost guarantee the shade you find will not be your best match. Your best bet is to test foundation on the bottom of the cheek and down the jawline into the neck. Your neck is much closer to your face in proximity, and as it sometimes gets less sun that other parts of the body it’s important to make sure that your foundation blends seamlessly with both your face and neck (When in doubt, go with the lighter and use bronzer to even your skin tone.

2. “You can’t wear a powder if you have fine lines and wrinkles, or if you have dry skin.” Okay, so this is true only in the sense that if you have very thirsty skin you shouldn’t wear an oil absorbing powder. However, powders that aren’t made for oil control are perfectly fine for dry skin that is properly maintained with exfoliation and a moisturizer to remove texture. And, if they are hydrating and have light-reflecting properties in them (such as our jojoba base) they actually detract away from fine lines and wrinkles. Plus with mineral powders you are less likely to get all the added unnecessary ingredients (And no gross residue on your cell phone!)

3. “Your Base should go all over the skin to give an even application.” We aren’t painting a living room wall here. If your base is the right match for your skin, you shouldn’t need to put it all over to get an even application. Start your application in the center of the face, where everyone tends to have the most problem areas, and work your way out. Blend out to the outer corners, but don’t re-dip your brush unless you really need to build more coverage. This way the skin will look even, perfected and natural, not masked

converted by Web2PDFConvert.com

O

4. “The brush you use doesn’t matter. You don’t even have to use a brush at all.” Brushes matter. They can save you time and make you love or hate your products. Want a full coverage application? Choose a brush with dense bristles like the Flat Top Brush. Want a more sheer, all-over application? The Long-Handled Kabuki is perfect. As a general rule, the more dense the brush, the more color deposit and coverage. The fluffier the bristles, the more sheer and even the application.

5. “Always use a primer.” Most primers are made from silicones, which works to create a barrier between the texture of your skin and the makeup you are applying, providing a smoother finish. However, these aren’t natural and obviously this isn’t a good treatment product for the skin. Instead, try treating the skin itself, exfoliating and moisturizing to get rid of surface texture. Not only will this do the same job as a primer, it will leave you with healthier skin.

Finishing dusts are the perfect way to Set and Perfect all of your makeup. They are ideal for controlling shine and enhancing your features based on which Dust you choose. Zea Mays works to absorb excess oil, while black currant extract provides a radiant glow.

Products listed from bottom to top Finishing Dust is our original formula, perfectly translucent and suited for all skin types. Shout Magazine's best of beauty award winner in 2012, if you are looking for an all over oil-control setting product that doesn't add any color to your skin, this is the dust for you. Sunlight Finishing Dust conceals redness and brightens skin tone. A hint of a yellow undertone works perfectly to naturally tone down unwanted rosy areas while warming up the skin with a translucent finish. Pearl Finishing Dust has a subtle shimmer to minimize dulling effects and diminish skin imperfections. Great as a highlighter for oily skins, and perfect for anyone who wants to control shine yet still achieve a glowy finish. Bronzed Finishing Dust offers a subtle glow and translucent tint of color, so the skin is not masked. Skin is instantly brightened, radiant and warm. Great for users who want to wear finishing dust alone, or to warm up your base shade. To apply, simply sprinkle a bit of the mineral dust into the lid of your container and follow the steps below: Dab a bit of the minerals onto your brush (see below for more on my picks for the best brush to use!) and tailor the areas of application depending on your personal skin type. If you find that your complexion has a tendency to be oily or shiny all over, apply a light layer of the finishing powers across the perimeter of your skin. If you only have shine in certain areas - such as your t-zone or your nose or chin - target the finishing dust to these problem areas. Secret tip: the finishing powders are also great along the cheekbones, and can provide a bit of shine-free contour that’s just lovely. Voila! You’re finished, in the truest sense of the word.

Now, about the brushes. I always suggest using bigger brushes for any type of “large scale” powder application - meaning, where you’re applying to the majority of your face. Three of my favorite brushes to use for this purpose are below: Angled Kabuki Brush- Ideal for when you want angled results, and the best for cheekbone contouring. Plush Mineral Brush (pictured above)- A plush, large all over face brush with round shape. A fully functional brush that delivers buildable coverage with minimal strokes. Eco Botan Artisan Kabuki Brush - A large dome shaped bamboo brush that is quite possibly one of the most luxurious brushes I’ve ever created!
