Project Communication Jaime de Candole
I began by drawing (by hand and digitally) the full portrait in order to realize my most prominent features. From here I am going to narrow it down in order to see which features I can remove from the portrait whilst still making it recognizable.
I realized that my eyes were the least recognizable trait as without the use of colour and fine detail it is difficult to differentiate them. I really like the digital drawing that includes the eyebrows, nose, mouth and smile line. However, I think I need to reduce the amount of detail in the drawing. I want to keep the hair as well as the earing as it is a define feature and accessory.
I experimented with the idea of just having the eyebrows on the face but found it difficult to distinguish that it was me. I like the drawing of just the eyebrows and the nose as I believe they are my most distinctive features. The detail in the hair and earing works well with the simplicity of the face.
I like how I have drawn the eyebrows (digitally), as despite the simplicity of the lines, the three small lines representing strands of hair create an effect of fine detail. I included my freckles at the end as they are one of the key features of my face. When trying to work out how I can make the drawing have more similarities to me, I realized that the eyes are important as they frame my face. They also highlight that my face is tilted which important when in reference to the photograph.
