Workshop Brief The workshop takes on a controversial discussion about nature and how architects, visual artists and landscape designers might engage with its contemporary representation. Borrowing Zizek’s words, nowadays “nature is over”; classical landscapes have been progressively replaced by a new notion of synthetic environments, in which natural and mutated visions coexist. It is precisely in this new hybrid territory that the course begins. In particular, during the workshop we will create a new planet, made of hyper realistic lush green fields, colorful flowers, buzzing insects, fantastical animals, calm rivers and mountain lakes. Each scene is digitally designed with extreme care, down to the minutiae of the smallest creature, to convince and immerse the audience into the reality of the digital dream.
THE SONG OF ICE AND FIRE The planet is design to a ice planet which is going to be melted by the exploding of the volcano. The lava burnt out the forest and plants, animals. The breaking out volcano make the ice melt which leads to the animals lose their living space. I named the planet as the song of ice and fire. The forest fire in Australia from 2019 to 2020 gave me inspiration for this planet. I want to remind people to protect enviroment with this exhibition of the ice planet.
We have a large number of elements in this planet, including jellyfishes, seals, seagulls, geese, humming birds, penguins, mammoth, whales and different kinds of plants.

Rebuild the Fallowfield Loop cycling path TYPE: Academic Design ( Individual ) TUTOR:Becky Sobell SITE:Manchester, Set. 2020
In my research, I will focus on the function of the adjacent plots of the site and use the crowd to study the two forms of the site. Through a tunnel, we will enter a dream world. Measuring brainwaves on the site, will create forms. The intention is to amplify activities which pre-exist on site. With the vision and imagination of the site, people can endow the site with new meaning.

The project will explore how to reactivate the site and create a landscape imagined by people, using dreams as the elemental force.

Design Introduction The site rose with the industrial revolution, and declined with the industrial decline. The existing site is seen as an abandoned landscape discarded in the urban network, out of place with the city. Comparing with the present site, the site has been dilapidated but it does not mean that it is dead.

Site Description Topographically, the site resembles a valley, sandwiched by a sequence of slopes and trees on either side. Most traces of the site’s industrial revolution, from the railway tracks to the cycling loop, are no longer visible, and everything is like a dream. The field is contradictory. Isolated from the city, the cycling loop is like a scar on the city. It is a bicycle path, but the site has no connection with the surrounding environment. But because of its topography and isolation from the city, the site offers a proper serenity and pleasure place. When people walk in the loop, they feel as if they are separated from the clown and noisy city in another world.

The reason of choosing this location to set a bird watcher tower is that you will be surprised when you walk through the Hedgerow Tunnel. It is the most beautiful view in this site and you can enjoy the sunset here as it toward west.

I want to make good use of the unuse area to active the site. So, I propose a lawn with a little bit of slope here where travelers can lay on the lawn and see the secret lake.
These three platform make up a trangle and travelers can say hi to eah other cross over the lake when they are fishing.

Location Analysis

Location Addressing Located in Milan City of Italy, Isola Pepe Verde is a community park governed by volunteers. It is operated by the community in a non-profiting mode to encourage all community members to participate in constructing the park and holding activities. The park covers an area of 1,830 m2 and is operated by an NGO. It is self-sufficient and produces no finished product. As a symbol of urban transition in a small space, it brings greenness and hope for the city.

Redesign the Isola Pepe Verde's park TYPE: Academic Design ( Individual ) TUTOR:HAO HU SITE:MILAN,Oct.2019 Design Introduction According to relevant study findings, Milan faces severe air pollution, which considerably affects residents’ life. The construction of this garden aims at triggering thoughts about what roles community gardens play in urban life. Apart from meeting the development and demands of modern life, this community gardens should adapt to changes in nature, climate, and ecology. The art and overall functions are combined to reshape the community-based Utopia in nature. After being completed, the garden will provide an ideal, humanistic Utopian garden that combines several functions. It serves people of all age groups. Here children, youths, middleaged, and elderly people live together. These people can communicate and exchange their thoughts in the manual workshop and recreational space or have simple conversations in the small, green, vigorous garden. In this place, the elderly who need medical care are no longer pushed to the edges of urban life but live the same as other members of society. While summer camps and amusement parks are provided as activity places for children, a rehabilitation garden is offered for the elderly to enrich their life. Eventually, the community is activated to trigger chain reactions. Meanwhile, it will drive the construction of community gardens in the vicinity to create green, comfortable Utopian parks, which activates the entire city.
Challenges of Milan The project briefly introduces several problems facing Milan, including rainfall floods, exhaust gases, population aging, and deficient green vegetables, aiming to find targeted solutions. It aims to construct a humanistic and ecological block to improve the environment of Milan.
Exhaust gas pollution
Deficient green plants
Severe population aging
Harm from rainfall floods
The improvement in image and elevation of the international status brought many hidden negative impacts to Milan. For example, Milan’s developed handicraft, textile, and manufacturing industries result in water pollution. Besides, Milan has a large number of cars per capita worldwide. These diesel cars bring automobile exhaust pollution to Milan and a prevalent haze. Fortunately, the Milan authorities have realized the severe situation. Now, Milan is attempting to improve the ecological environment and constructing green buildings. This project hopes to bring greenness to Milan through reconstruction.
Surrounding Analysis
Problems and Strategy Business Distribution in Surrounding Zones Small stores, car rental companies, pet paradises, parks, squares, and a railway station can ve found in the surrounding zone. Thus the project will be a node park that is functionally complementary to the surrounding zone and has convenient traffic. It provides surrounding users with a place for relaxation, communication, and resting. However, there is no community park worth stopping to rest. Besides, a survey was carried out, which showed that people living nearby were most children. Thus summer camps for children and other activities are held regularly. This design focuses on greening and recreational functions that can be used to optimize the urban environment and improve the quality of life for surrounding residents. Also, changeable facilities with diverse functions will be equipped to meet the demands of people from different age groups for different activities.
The project design guides the site from two principal lines, including time and space dimensions. On the time dimension, the design plans to expand the street park to other street corners throughout Milan. Thus more street parks will derive from this park to activate Milan streets. Regarding the space dimension, this design creates different forms of space as users and application purposes vary, including the private park and the event square. In conclusion, the design enables users to change the nature of the site to meet different demands.

DESIGN
The low utilization rate of the Currently, the parking lot has hard flooring. Thus waterpermeable flooring, grass groves, and an ecological retention gap can be constructed to collect rain from surrounding regions.
Regional Enclosure
Chaotic Site
Space for Exercise
The park is enclosed by partition walls, which prevent outsiders from entering and blocking their gazes into the park.
Ecological flower boxes are placed disorderly on the site. It fails to create a space and thus affects
It is recommended to keep and optimize the sites where children and elderly people exercise. Meanwhile, the functions of the site should be diversified to enhance interactions between residents.
Design of movable boxes The high wall can be combined with existing walls to form “little mountains” for climbing, platforms for playing, holes for crawling, and blackboard wall for writing on. Besides, planting boxes can be added to enrich the greening surface. According to the detail sketch, the universal wheels at the bottom rotate around one center with the assistance of the walls. Next, the wheels are combined with other boxes.
Design The high wall, low wall, and seat have variant changes. For example, different changes can be created by digging, cutting, and adding auxiliary parts. Besides, these three forms can be combined to enclose distinctive space.
Structure In fact, the design includes a set of water cycle system for the site. When rain falls from the roof in a rainstorm, it is partially blocked by arbors and climbing plants. Next, the remaining water runs away along with the surface runoffs, which permeate into the soils and are collected and stored underground. The stored water can be used for landscape purposes and irrigation. A banded ditch on the site is used as the pool where children can play. It is also a part of the rain collection system. Different interesting laying modes are adopted for the activity partition. Besides, the project designed two transformed spaces according to project demands. The large space is used for the assembly of children’s summer camps, while the small space is where children play in daily life. The design combines dots, lines, and planes. The planted arbors are dots; walls form lines; the space is the plane. Apart from being ecological, the overall design aims to create an interesting effect. The designer hoped that the small space could guide users to change the site with creativity according to their demands for use.
Section A
Section B
The combination of high walls, low walls, and planting boxes for greening meets elderly people’s demands for sitting on wheelchairs and standing. The seat can be combined with planting boxes so that people can be close to plants when they rest.
Master Plan
Structure N
Structure Water System Analysis The designer has one vision: May the design spread the Milan block style to other blocks in future development. Such ecological and interesting sites are needed on Milan streets. It is hoped that more streetside parks can be constructed in Milan in the near future. In this way, the park will activate the vigor of the street and make each block more humanistic. Maybe there will be distinctive green land in each block that is scattered on the map of Milan like stars.

北海雅居乐·金碧湾示范区 TYPE: professtional Design ( Group Design) TUTOR: LUO YUANYUAN SITE:GUANGXI,Dec.2018 North Sea Yajule Golden Bay is located in the core of the east area of North Sea Silver Beach, enjoys natural and cultural landscapes such as 8 km of primary beach, 495 acre of Golden Bay Mangrove Wetland Park, and 3.8 km of Haisi Landscape Canal. At the same time, it brings together multiple holiday supporting resources such as Haisi Water Park, Hilton Hotel, 1.4 km of riverside commercial street, community kindergarten, etc. The design of the whole region draws lessons from the design methods of ecological hotels, and combines the holiday viewing with artistic elements, and efforts are made to create a modern extreme holiday experience through the triple landscape system of "artistic experience + interactive fun + multifunctional viewing".The design extracts the characteristic features of the North Sea and integrates the "glory of pearl" and "flow of river " into the site. The ground represents waves, the water represents layers of rock walls, and the white artistic device will be the combination of waves and nets. The flowing curve grows and extends on the vertical surface, concentrating and reproducing the natural beauty of Northern Gulf waves and the bay shore by modern methods. Wandering on the golden beach, is just like picking up seashells and sightseeing on the beach, as well as feeling the unexpected surprises endowed by the venue. In the project, I am mainly in charge of the design of facade modeling and the creation of artistic framework, which is an important part of the whole design.
The project is located in the key planning section of Guangxi North Sea Northern Gulf Central Eco-city, and it is an artistic and poetic sojourn on the edge water that created with heart. This project is a pilot demonstration area of over 750,000 square meters in North Sea, and uses art as a medium to create a triple landscape system of "artistic experience + interactive fun + multifunctional landscape".

Master Plan The design of the whole region draws lessons from the design methods of ecological hotels, and combines the holiday viewing with artistic elements, and efforts are made to create a modern extreme holiday experience through the triple landscape system of "artistic experience + interactive fun + multifunctional viewing". The design extracts the characteristic features of the North Sea and integrates the "glory of pearl" and "flow of river " into the site. The ground is waves, the water is layers of rock walls, and the white artistic device is the combination of waves and nets. The flowing curve grows and extends on the vertical surface, concentrating and reproducing the natural beauty of Northern Gulf waves and the bay shore by modern methods. Wandering on the golden beach, picking up seashells and sightseeing on the beach, feeling the unexpected surprises endowed by the venue. Deduce the change in different forms of artistic framework, with sea waves as plane elements and fishing nets as facade elements, combine them with each other. At the same time, it meets the requirement of forming a clear portal for the structure of separation by the river. In the meanwhile, it is constantly changing, deducing and combining to conclude the final framework.
Under construction Door
This is a photo taken when the process of the construction reached about 70%. The construction of the garden has finished the major part and the framework has been built in prototype, but the scaffold has not yet been removed. The design was finally adjusted on the spot. Through repeated testing, comparison and angle adjustment, the landing of the scheme and the quality of construction were ensured.
Looking across the river, the person has not arrived, but the shock brought by the design has already been felt. The undulating lines form a portal, framing the display area and gathering the sight of tourists. The patches of pink and indigo grass planted under it have created a sea of flowers. The wind blows the waves of pink and the spikes of flowers are like silk. The sea of flowers is like enshrouding pink clouds, soft and graceful.
Dream net Waves Life in Golden Bay is an encounter between the venue and the hotel-style holiday mood. The framework is like a splashing wave, rising up into the sky, dotted with the interface shaped by returning sails and fishing nets. Under the sunshine, the sails are glistening with light spots, interwoven on the water surface, bringing a little vitality to the poetic and elegant space.
The front-court wind-catching modeling gallery frame convergences the micro-wave form, integrates the curves of layers of waves into the interactive device, depicts the overall outline, and presses out the outer boundary of the display area. In order to simulate the lightsome and transparent posture of fishing nets, sunshades with various effects are used. White plates represent purity, mirror plates reflect the pure blue of the sky, and brushed plates represent tranquility. Looking from the bridge, the eye-catching artistic modeling and sparkling sequins catch people's eyes, bringing strong visual impact and making the brand image more memorable.
Effect After the project was completed, the river, the landscape and the buildings complement each other. It fully embodies the "glory of pearl " and "flow of river. " Ascending the stairs in waterfront, the undulating framework leaps to the eyes. Different metal sunshades, such as white plate and mirror metal plate, reflected different light effects, which adding a bit of fun to the site.
The overall project construction has been done, the rate of landing is quite high. The modeling process of the framework makes less mistakes than imagined. The on-site effect of plant collocation is also acceptable. This is also my first landing exhibition area project. I also gained a lot of experience afterwards.

Howard johnson hotel
TYPE: professtional Design ( Group Design) TUTOR: LUO YUANYUAN SITE:HAINAN,Jan.2019 Howard Johnson Hotel is located in Lingao, Hainan Island. It is near an artificial lake to the north and located in municipal road to the south. The whole site occupies an area of xxx square meters. The ceremony sequence of the whole hotel includes the entrance waterscape--axis courtyard--back yard waterscape--wedding lawn--central gallery pavilion-waterfront landscape belt. And this time I am mainly responsible for the entrance part. The design of the whole hotel combines the local regional characteristic culture, integrates the local minority of Li minority culture, as well as extracts Li minority cultural elements. In some lamps, wall details and waterscape, we have also added logo and texture extracted from pictures in Li’s totem belief, fully showing the characteristics of tourism. Let visitors come here and feel a different feeling from that of big cities. In addition, in the choice of materials, we also adopt the volcanic rocks with local characteristics to make the landscape more conform with the local regional culture, and the use of some riprap and green slate also makes the hotel more ecological and amorous.

Section
The waterscape on both sides of the entrance adds a sense of ceremony. The tree pool and low wall adopt cultural stone facades, volcanic rocks are on top, fully showing the characteristics of the local primitive ecology. The details of the metal sink in Tree Pool are refined, reflecting luxury and honor in casual places. At the same time, the sink can vaguely reflect the cultural logo with local characteristic.
The passageway formed by lampposts and foxtail anemones on both sides of the entrance lane enhances the sense of ceremony and guides the traffic flow. At the same time, pavement segmentation and the guidance of the line of sight are used to form a diversion of people and vehicles. The paving also uses the local characteristic stone, which is 100x100 litchi plane sesame black stone and 50x50 mosaic joining together.
Mosaic paving is integrated with cultural patterns full of local characteristic, just like telling you a story, casual and without being pretentious.

The project is located in Nansha, Guangzhou, Guangdong which is a national new zone and pilot free trade zone in the new round of reform and opening up. It is the only urban sub-center in Guangzhou. It is also an important platform for Guangdong to open to the outside world and an important hub of China's 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Landscape Wall Detail Design
The site is close to the main road of Lincheng City, with large vehicles passing by, with loud noise and poor sight. The entrance gate building requires that both the climbing surface and the fire lane be taken into consideration. The gate is used as a permanent fire gate to reduce dismantling and modification. The square in front of the gatehouse is reserved for evacuation.
Landscape Wall Detail Design
The project is located in Huangpu Science City, Luogang, Guangzhou, Guangdong, with a superior location. Due to the high building density of the project, the landscape of the site is greatly limited by the climbing surface. Fire lanes and climbing surfaces need to be fully paved with hard materials, and the area of climbing surface is relatively large. I am mainly responsible for the design of children's activity areas for this project. In order to offset the negative impact of all the hard paving on the climbing surface, I adopted the strategy of laying lines on the ground and combining multiple sites, using ground patterns, thus enriching the visual senses of the overall landscape and saving certain costs. The site is equipped with micro-topography and step stage at appropriate places. Considering all-age activities and integrating different activities at all ages, besides general children's activities, I have also added badminton courts and fitness equipments to meet the needs of young people.
As the project leader of the whole project, I have been expanding the initial design from conceptual design. Through reasonable scale control and body block insertion, the shock force of the gate is created, a good image grid is set at the entrance of the park and iron gates are matched to form an overall harmonious effect. The facade of the whole gate house is combined with the actual situation, and the reception room is a large box, which is weakened by the glass interface.
