DESIGN IS MY LIFE My name is Jake Braghini. I am a gradutae of Industrial Design from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Through my studies design has become the core of who I am. Life is better when it is surounded by well designed products. Design is what will change the world. I believe that. Design and critical thinking will create a better life. Whether designing soft goods or hard goods, I feel thought must be poured into it. I want to challenge the way things are and ask the hard questions. In 5-10 years, I would like to be a design manager or have my own soft goods and footwear brand. Currently, I work at Miche Fashion Company analyzing trends, designing bags, creating technical packages and working with overseas factories to have soft goods produced successfully.

Changing the game industrial designer / Miche llc / june 2014- present When I started my design internship with Miche, I had the opportunity to rethink the bags when it comes to shape, size and construction. This section will show some of the process of the redesign.

SOLD OUT This bag was the fourth bag I sent out as an intern. I never believed that one of my first bags would sell out within the first two weeks - 1600 bags total.

MY AESTHETIC industrial designer / Miche llc / june 2014- present These are my favorite bags and they speak to my identity as a designer. I focus on SIMPLE DESIGN ELEMENTS and BEAUTIFUL PROPORTIONS.

process These bags were my first attempts at Miche bags. I tightened up the proportions and gave the bag structure. I looked at classic Chanel bags from the 70’s versus the bags Miche was presenting to customers and realized that we can offer a Miche product, but with great classic styles. Once my superior saw the potential I saw, I was allowed to further experiment. I start with TREND ANALYSIS, moving to SKETCHING, then RENDERING, TECH PACK CREATION, and SAMPLING.

prints and MATERIAls industrial designer / Miche llc / june 2014- present While at Miche, I had the opportunity to make several custom prints. Pictured here are some of my favorites. I also had the opportunity to design several packs using materials that Miche had never used before, to meet youth trends.

dainty floral This print was made for spring and was geared toward a younger demographic.

REAL FLOWERS This print was pretty complicated. The print required 15 colors and had never been attempted by Miche. I thought it was necessary to progress the comapny. And because I like irony the interior of the bag is dirt colored.

Two Different girls, Two different trends These bags came from different trends, that worked for two different types of girls. The trend mixed traditional materials with a pop of tribal color.
