Frequent Seas

It doesn’t sound

like you might imagine. A different kind of loud.

It doesn’t smell like you might imagine—more sweat, fermentation.

It doesn’t behave like you might imagine. Moving most of the time, piling And

It doesn’t look like you might imagine—fractured to pieces. Disorganized but no one would talk about it directly out loud.

Do you remember the name of those sheets of thicker paper they would fold in half to put thinner papers in.. They were a nameless shade of yellow. Vanilla Folders? Yes! ...

What a boring way to live.

Between newly discovered mountains there are blocks. But not blocks like cities had previously defined. Blocks that extend themselves upwards as much as they extended themselves outward. Each confined to loose boundaries.

Between the block boundaries are pockets resulting from the accumulation of mass over time—what the inhabitants refer to as the equation of separation—producing a coexistence between man and animal at a scale unimaginable. Between the piling of aggregates are frequent seas. Water collecting in various uncontrolled cavities. At first, these seas are where the inhabitants come to escape—the closest thing to the vacations of the old world. Slowly each sea develops a unique character. Whether from the type of organisms congregating at the source, the color of its atmosphere, maybe it’s use, each is used for different recreational purposes and becomes the true beauty of the blocks existence.

The frequent seas are the only constant through the blocks of variability. Above the sea of the middle block is a pocket much different than what is below. Above is a reptilian organ that maintains a sub-climate high above its assumed location. In a humid amazon, Jaguars roam freely only feet from the rectangular pocket that interlocks.

Below are pockets that secede due to over-amplified frequencies. The sounds of the old world—language and music—are altered to an unidentifiable state. All sound is indistinguishable. It is only frequency. These pockets are occupied by the creative. All things operate at 126 UPM in accordance with the central subterranean frequency.

The metronome’s extreme frequency shatters the ground. Strange gases escape through the cracks to the world above. The seas of this block are visited most often for the euphoric side-effects following ingestion. The inhabitants greatest fear that one day the smoke stacks will cease production.

Inside the rectangular counterpart are thousands of determined students. This pocket’s interior is devoid of senses other than sight. The school’s creators learned from studies that natural light is conducive to a proper educational environment. The rest are determined as distractions. Each student spends their term developing assigned governmental systems. They work for retirement in their respective Sea.

The divine effects of the (frequent sea 3) distract the inhabitants from what happens a block over. Inside this block are pockets of body processors. In lieu of the religious shift, the human bodys’ remains are no longer treated as sacred. Instead, because of one lucky student’s whose assignment was to develop postmortem energy processing

(and who now owns most of the property in C3), body’s are the primary resource for the blocks energy. Animals are the new divine organism. Their bodies are buried around C3 waters as it is rumored that their reincarnation is performed via sublimation which becomes the source of the coveted euphoric gases. The only living inhabitants in this block are elderly humans and endangered species since the elderly humans pose no threat. This promotes regrowth of dying species and decreases the amount of energy needed in the overall process of postmortem energy processing.

Because of the fertile land that surround the seas, parks often congregate in nearby areas. The parks filled with all ages. Each parks fertile land is excavated and replaced with a solid white cube. Inside, inhabitants choose from thousands of virtual realities. Many enter a world they’ve previously created under the influence of C3

Much of the museum is devoted to preserving bits of the old world. Cars are displayed - one is even available to drive around a track. This is the most exciting part of the museum. Another portion of the museum explains prior religion to educate the inhabitants of the causes of the Atomic Settlement in hopes of avoiding another. Attached to the museum is a zoo showcasing virtual wildlife that is rare or inaccessible in the human pockets. Stray animals are sometimes caught following parks of their own kind, never knowing they are the only one that truly exist.

Though a primitive solution for gaining energy, Humans and animals still have the need for ingestion. A portion of this block is devoted to agriculture. Though it resembles a common cultivation field of the old world, the energy produced is much more systematic. Spaced equally, the holes in which crops grow are openings in the ground that reveal a far away connection to the central core processor. The crops grown are artificial meals consisting of the purest bodily nutrients that can be retained from the process of PEP. The ingredients of the inhabitants meals are withheld for the betterment of the society. Meals are rationed at three servings per day, but most are sold in bulk for illegally obtained canisters of C3.

A few of the seas are devoted strictly to the rehabilitation of prehistoric sea life. When these species make a full recover they are transported to the baths where humans bath to cleanse themselves of spiritual impurities. There are few prehistoric species that occupy these bath but they are regarded as the most precious organism known to mankind. They live at such great depths that if you are consumed by any of the species you are assumed to sublimate as animals would and reincarnate as C3 - the greatest level of postmortem processing a human can reach.
