Vertical Campgrounds
On an island in the middle of the East River, the typical residential tower spirals 2,000 feet upward. It proposes a new model of urban living through vertical campgrounds and natural amenities. As the tower ascends, it inverts the residential high-rise typology. To watch more: Click Here To read more: Scroll Down
Video Audio Transcription: ‘Three types of residents inhabit the tower. Apartments offer permanent living options. Condominiums offer semi-permanent living options. Campgrounds offer transient living options. Permanent and semi-permanent residents arrive via car. The garage connects the Pier to the Island below water. Residents choose between two unit configurations. High-rise apartments are accessed through a corridor. ‘Free-standing’ condos are accessed through the environments. Transient residents arrive via boat that taxis from the Pier to the Island’s dock. Interior units interact with only one climate. Corner units often interact with two climates. The Climates facilitate a variety of resort amenities. Restaurants use ingredients grown within the tower’s environments. This offers the possibility of global cuisine grown locally. Large vertical tubes extend the height of the Tundra. Each tube houses cooling coils to maintain the arctic conditions, rejecting heat to warmer climates. The tube’s secondary function is to house cryotherapy chambers. Bath complexes spanning climate zones offer atmospheric variation. The baths exist at multiple scales, but retain the most privacy of the amenities.

Forest
The highest real estate in the tower is reserved for resort camping. The desert at the 111st floor features. Bedouin Tents. Artificial Oasis. Public Dunes. The forest at the 105th floor features. Ground Camping. Tension Hammocks. Ventilated Fires. This new typology dissolves the boundaries of the natural and the man-made. Exteriors blend to interiors. Staying inside now offers the possibility of living outdoors.’ Beach

FREQUENT SEAS
Architecture Landscapism will soon abolish architecture. Human’s domestication of animals and in turn humans themselves has a bred an unnatural coexistence that will only be perpetuated by the lack of resources we may find to be our reality in the future. Entering the age of the Anthropocene, Man can now reign king in good conscious over Mother Nature. Man can now do what it wishes with the Earth in good conscience that the intelligence we create will not only reverse the immediate effects, but develop a world that consequently benefits. In the Old World Architecture, land will become scarce as time continues and occupancy increases. Space between man and animal will not exceed the current space between man and house cat. But in the New World Architecture Landscapism zones exist in the aggregation of the old. Humans and animals occupy blocks stretching 1/2 x 1/2 SQ miles only touching when appropriate. A business pitch and a carnivorous hunt happen only feet apart in neighboring pockets The coexistence is not a punishment, but a mere shift in the natural environment.
Thanks for being here, btw.
MIDLAND
The section and plan work in tandem to expand and compress the space on both the interior and the exterior. The connections of walls and floors develop axonometric tendencies that aid in the oscillation of dimensions. The walls reflecting extensions of windows, the ground mimicking a recession of space— the architecture begins to create a new dimension.

Theater
L o b b y
The form each theater is a derived from the combination of rectangles and their axonometric counterparts to which create a facade that flattens and expands depending on the vantage point of the viewer. The facade's paneling and window strategies also aid in the oscillation.
CAUTION: Objects in park may be flatter than they Each park element act in unique ways to flatten / expand their assumed nature. For example, the stair typically used to elevate remains three dimensional from above, but flattens on approach.

Medini combines ecological richness with economic potential to offer a range of new personal and urban possibilities. Ecologically, Medini is part of the Malaysian megabiome in that it harbors a majority of the world’s plant and animal species. Economically, it is poised for explosive growth as a ‘second hub’ city. PROJECT TITLE proposed to leverage this region’s rich ecology to spur this development through a series of architectural, landscape and urban interventions. The key to these proposals is to tap into the regions ecological and climatic richness as a way of linking livability and TKTK, comfort and climate, sustainability and development. Taken collectively, the Leisure & Tourism and Health & Wellness sectors rival Business Services as having the greatest potential impact on GDP and job creation in the Iskandar Malaysia region.

CC HOUSE
Cindy Cucumber is more than just a human Vegetable. Cindy is a radio host, saxophonist, regular vegetable, and much more. In order to satisfy Cindy’s needs, each room functions uniquely, but remains integral. With this specificity comes a minor technicality: the house will become very confused and relocate to an unknown location if Cindy chooses not to co-inhabit with Guest. This being said, the only main requirements to continue normal house processes are as follows: take regular cheese baths, fill Gerald’s bowl with Pringles at least once a day, never play the saxophone but always leave it visible for guests to assume the saxophone is in regular use, restrict any use of the porch unless operating as an exhibit to visitors who reply “huh? wait wait wait back up wait huh? Porch? What th-” when a reference to a porch is being made, never use the kitchen to cook, no clothes are to be worn at any time while inside except for capes, ankle bracelets, and sweatbands, and of course only AM radio static is to be played. Though the house runs a large risk of confusion, if treated properly this structure offers the perfect interior for unused saxophones and young, vegetable couples alike.
D.W. Geez D.W. Geez, the pioneer of the drawing typical (plans, sections, etc.), and founder of the vector revolutionized the way we as architects draw. It has become an everyday hobby of mine to click around aimlessly until carpel tunnel forbids or my eyes fall out. Though neither seem pleasant, .dwg's sure are easy to read.

Exquisite Corpse This project is a critique on the monotony of corporate living. The theater is superimposed in an NYC parcel where it is encouraged to grow to the point of overtaking the evenly stacked floor plates. Its intruding presence draws attention, thus creating an ambiguity between the performance of the theater and of the corporation's employees.
Presidential Library Located on the water of Chicago, the multi-tower floating structure bridges itself along the coast. Lifting the circulation above the water, The inhabitants leave the earth’s busy streets and ascend into a space of serenity to indulge in everything the city fails to offer.
Wexner Collection The simple stacking of gallery around a central core displays a personal collection of small variation. Each gallery box adheres to the core developing a panoramic view of each separate but equal means of display.

So it rains a little in Plano. If current trends tell us anything, its that a giant wall can’t solve all problems, But an all-inclusive-convertible-floating addition might. In this re-design, the block utilizes a system that shades, recycles, heats, floats, entertains, etc. Mechanical units and rooftop swimming pool call for a staircase are accessed by a new staircase. The situating of this circulation on the north facade transforms the landing into a shading device for the curtain wall below. On the South facade, the block acts as a shading device of its own while the interior first-floor utilizes direct gain to be sent inward in the winter. The east facade is shaded through a water feature draining from the swimming pool—the system recycles and filters natural water + uses the energy gained on the block’s facade to power the process. To save the house’s inhabitants from the flood, the block is built on buoyant cylinders that rise with the water—turning the roof of the Farnsworth into the ground in case you Mies the boat.

AOU AxonOfUs is an attempt to capture specific moments in time that a camera didn’t, or more-so couldn’t. These drawings are meant to exploit the often fantastic reality that is presented in a memory. Originally drawn as a set of four, a free-flowing gradient connects the two subjects in a constricted environment and oftentimes erases the boundaries between them.

Architectural Swell With architectural systems’ rapid transplantation into new cities, programs such as parking, hotel, and restaurant suffering from a lack of use will slowly lose function. These ignored spaces, or organs, of various architectural bodies will in turn present a need for programmatic transplant. This need-based transplant will oftentimes result in the attachment of unlike architecture and may result in rejection. The goal of this piece is to address the architectural complications of transplanting non-self architecture and explore the opportunities of utilizing the side-effects as a means of avoiding total rejection.
But I still have hair so I'm definitely not a robot.

Urban Thaw The start of a completely vertical architecture seems to solve the problem of over-crowding, but it also results in a dense and massive collection that casts a collective shadow over the entirety of earth. With little sunlight leaving the ground a dark after-thought and towers facilitating every need, is there any reason to return to the ground once we settle into our towers?
