LETENSKÁ PLÁŇ PRAGUE ACADEMIC, COLLECTIVE, URBANISM 4 YEAR/9 TERM WINTER TERM, 2016/17 ING. ARCH. TOMÁŠ HRADEČNÝ ING. ARCH. KLÁRA HRADEČNÁ BC. BRONISLAVA PRIEHODOVÁ

Area of Letná plain belongs to imortant and favorite Prague spots. Proximity to centre, filled with greenery and civic amenities makes it very popular among locals. Seemingly perfect place faces many chalenges. Unsufficient urban planning can ruin it’s extraordinary genius loci. Purpose of this project is not to cover another part of Prague in buildings, but to identify and strengthen qualities and address problems. To truly highlight the size of plain it is necessary to clearly define its boudaries. Therefore we propose for a line of buildings to be contructed at its nothern edge and also at the place of existing stadium. This way Hradčany and Dejvice are connected to Letná by more urban space with clearly defined park and street. Letenská plane and other Prague places were in the past often filled with influentian architectural objects like Oragery in the Prague castle gardens, Belveder, Hanvský-pavilio or EXPO 58 building. For this reason it is just natural to place a new cultural centre in this important location. We propose for one to be constructed at the place of existing football stadium and another one at the heart of the park so its visible both from north street and down from the riverside. Next we place smaller object in the park on view axis from the newly defined street.

Block design for Toronto, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Main goal of the assingment was to design quality while achieving high FAR and wide spectrum of program. In Toronto the demand for quality housing is very high, but the demands vary greatly. Singles, young families, elderly, future businessmen have different requirements. The city needs higher density and great variability. Project VARIO Block provides both through its shape and programmatic structure. To accommodate all program space created needs to be flexible. Therefore the depth of the designed building is gradually increasing around the perimeter of the block. From 9 meters of single loaded resi-dential through 21 meters of office to large deep floor plate for light industry. To lighten the huge mass block is divided into for smaller buildings. Two residential and two office buildings. Everything is connected through two public levels dedicated to retail. On the ground floor via arcade and on the second floor through the series of bridges. To activate street retail on the ground is divided into many smaller spaces intended mainly for cafes and small stores. Second level is dedicated to large retail. The third level on the border of public and private hosts spaces like gym or spa. Large office building on the north side of the site is designed for various purposes. The spaces and program are distributed around the central atrium into two sections. Western part is great for offices eastern for program that requires large floor plate. Central atrium is designed to induce collaboration, providing spaces for meetings and leisure. 19

House in the vacant lot Bratislava, Slovakia Student competition, collective April 2015 Bc. Bronislava Priehodová

House for a family in the citycentre has to be more than a good dwelling. House at Župné námestie provides quality housing for a four member family with a roof terrace and a garden. Thus has the exterior relax zone which is not very easy to create in the city center. There is an important connection created between the neglected Michael`s moat and the public space. House is a gate. It fits and fills the useful space and invites to forbidden places of the city to enjoy the culture and city life. Stairs leading to the moat contain the space for gallery or cafe. Lot has been selected to bring attention to number of abandoned spaces. There are many empty unkept structures and estates around Slovakia that could used to improve city enviroment. Let`s bring the citizens back to city center.

House of the island guardian Prague, Štvanice island Academic, individiual 3 year/6 semester Summer semester, 2013/2014 doc. Ing. arch. akad. arch. Petr Hájek, Ing. arch. Jaroslav Hulín

ASSIGNMENT and CONCEPT House of the island guardian comes out of the common studio concept of the Art island. Main aim was to create an alternative, experimental space for artists. Art island was established on the pragues island Štvanice an area separated from public, an asylum. There were many different buildings designed for the island to serve the artists. The house of the island guardian was created as natural continuation of these ideas. It is the tower located on east end of the island, creating the connection between the island and other parts of the city. The island is symbolicaly opening its gates to public by lowering it’s draw bridges located within the tower. In the upmost part of the building is placed an apartment for the island guardian that guards the city from above.

125 250 Prague Site-specific art intallation 2017 Bronislava Priehodová Nguyễn Thế Anh

Art festival Pokoje is help annualy in Prague to promote young art schools and artists. Every year rooms in an old vacant building in the centre become a blank canvas for everyone participating to create site-specific art. We decided to build a vending machine for glass balls. To get a ball you needed to push a button. However with every ball falling out the number of pushes you had to make increased by one, simulating our hunger for satisfaction at the push of the button and the difficulty to achieve it. Machine was designed, programmed and build from scratch using laser cut body and simple electronics controlled by Arduino board.

Wooden food drier Koněprusy, CZ Workshop, group Summer, 2014 Bc. Bronislava Priehodová, Lukáš Houser, Wendy Anne Frömmelová

Construction of fruit dryer was initiated by cityzens of Koněprusy, because there is plenty of orchards and thus delicious fruit and forests full of mushrooms. We are glad we could help to...their idea. In our design we tried to deal with autumn rainy weather. The experiment combines power of the sun and fire. Dryer itself consist of several parts. Pedestal out of bricks which serves as fireplace upon which is sheetmetal with the layer of gravel acumulating the heat. The smoke is lead away trough the chimney on the side of the dryer. There is the main body set on the pedestal which is made of wood. There are 8 drowers with net bottom where the fruit and mushrooms can be spread and dried. There are four holes in the wooden body in the lower part and another four on the top which assure the air circulation and thuc effective drying. We hope all will work just fine and inhabitants of Koněprusy could enjoy all the possibilities their comunity centre provides.
