Exquisite Pan-Asian Cuisine and Lounge Bar


Welcome to my beautiful new restaurant in Nutley! I sincerely hope that you enjoy the blend of Asian food and find the atmosphere to be an intoxicating blend of many different Asian cultures. In fact, it was the blend between the intricacies and exquisite taste of Thai food, together with the top-selling food in the UK - Indian cuisine - combined with the colourful culture and heritage of both countires that inspired me to combine both cuisines under one roof. I opened my first restaurant in 1988 and have gone on to found the Blue Orchid group, an elite chain of restaurants in Southern England which specialise in the finest Thai cuisine and particularly luxurious Thai ambiance. I currently spend approximately four months per year in Thailand and personally source all my own decor and furniture from my trips to this beautiful land, as well as leading the recruitment of our chefs - all of whom have previous experience in some of Thailand’s top hotels and restaurants. As a result I can assure you that, not only is the setting and ambiance genuine, but the delicious food and service is authentic too. It is my genuine hope that the consequence of combining two such diverse and colourful cultures, both with such a wonderful mixture of hospitality and delectable fare, is an equally memorable and mouth-watering experience for you today! DineAsia is delighted to introduce our award winning Head Chef, Gurudath Panapil, who brings with him a wealth of culinary experience from some of the most prestigious hotels in India, the UK and Mauritius. Chef Gurudath is a well-known name that is familiar over all Taj and Welcome groups, as he has risen up the ranks in meteoric style since completing his three-year traineeship in New Delhi. Truly a ‘Star of India’, Gurudath has earned his reputation through hard work and a natural flair for creative cuisine. A wide range of tried and tested recipes, both traditional and modern Indian, has evolved out of his inspired hands. “Modern Indian food is adopting the European style” says Gurudath “as it contains less fat, which ensures that it is healthier and lower in calories. Also, our presentation differs, with plenty of salad and a wide variety of Indian vegetables.” Chef Gurudath has proved himself and his creativity in the heart of all food lovers. ‘Guru has the soul of an artist and the passion of a perfectionist’ Mr Suchart Jinarugs, Thai Chef Born in a remote village in the Northeast of Thailand, 38 year old Suchart was professionally trained before heading mulitple Five Star establishments all over Thailand. Having achieved a reputation for himself, he was headhunted by the Hyatt Regency Group of Hotels to head their Thai kitchens in Hua Hin. On learning of Suchart during one of his many recruitment visits to Thailand, Khaled Mannan enticed him away into his Blue Orchid Group of Thai Restaurants in the South of England. His authentic cooking has been a success wherever he has gone.
