A significant aspect of the 21 century digital based era we all live in is the internet’s capacity to change people’s lives People can pursue their dreams and become influencers on popular media platforms such as Youtube or Instagram Celebrity entertainer Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. did just that.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan, Grandberry, commonly known as DDG, lived an academic life and was a top scholar throughout the school. His efforts led him to attend Central Michigan University, but his ambition and talent called for a different journey.
Grandberry began creating content on Youtube and making music on the side His passion lay in the arts Grandberry trusted his intuition when he decided to pursue music and Youtube full time Grandberry’s high aptitude in education translated smoothly to his entertainment efforts, with the young creator making as much as 30K from Youtube before officially dropping out.
Words by Da'Juan Fradiue Photos: Instagram/DDGPreviously known as Pontiac Made DDG, a call back to his hometown, this rapper has become a mainstay in the social media internet culture. After moving to Hollywood, CA, DDG began to make moves, including a deal with Epic Records and collaborations with Southern California prospects such as Blueface. DDG would team up with producer Zaytoven who helped drop his early songs “Balenciagas” and “Free Parties” in 2016 The young prospect had even indulged in frisky rap beef with rap superstar Lil Yachty after releasing his song “Big Boat,” directly calling out the famed “Lil Boat ” It wasn’t until the pandemic ensued in 2020 that DDG would see his first exponential career trajectory explode after releasing his hit single “Moonwalking in Calabasas ” This song remixed a popular song from rap juggernaut Future and his hit song titled “Too Comfortable ” DDG’s success has been a combination of trusting his gut feeling and believing in his talent, which helped as the 24 year old rapper seems to just be getting started

ARTIST OF THE MONTH
WRITTEN BY KEAONA GRAY OUTLAWTemilade Openiyi, who the world knows as Tems, is a powerhouse, a born superstar, and thee moment. The 27 year old Nigerian singer isn’t just the voice we fell in love with when we first heard her on Wizkid’s song “Essence”. She’s also a Grammy nominated, record-breaking and internationally proclaimed artist. Tems released her first EP in 2013 titled "Time Swap" beginning
her music career early on But it wasn’t until we heard her on Wizkid’s hit song that we finally saw her star power shine, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and even receiving a feature from global star Justin Beiber. That same year, she and Wizkid received a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards
"IF THE WORLD WAS ENDING, WOULD YOU CRY OR WOULD YOU TRY TO GET ME"- TEMS
INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR
Tems dropped her album "If Orange Was a Place" in 2021 which succeeded both in the U S and across the globe.Even after so much success, she didn’t stop there. Tems was featured on Drake’s song “Fountains” as well as Future’s song “Wait for U”, which both debuted on the Hot 100. Not only did she become the first African artist to debut at number one, she was only the second Nigerian artist to top the chart. So what has she been doing recently? She recently worked with the Queen Bee, Beyonce Yes, you read that right We all remember where we were when Beyonce’s 7th debut album Renaissance released in July. The anticipated album included several artists as collaborators/songwriters on several tracks, and Tems is one of them. Like the rest of us, Tems was shocked by this collaboration and had not anticipated an opportunity like this coming so soon. But we all know that Tems as a feature will do no wrong.
WHAT IS SHE DOING NOW?
Tems is still dominating the stage in every corner of the world Just recently, she took the stage at the Global Citizen Festival where thousands of her fans had the chance to witness her greatness live. This month, she graced the cover of British GQ with an exclusive and personal interview. Her presence and impact are undeniable, and we’re all waiting for what’s in store next.
