There’s new talent coming to the scene of Hip Hop music, and Shani Boni is as she says “the girl who raps’! As drill music remains centerstage in the rap game along with the promise of new talent, Shani Boni is more than just a fresh face, she’s a refreshing sound for New York City music. This year has already shown her promise of a successful track record.

In February, she released her surprise hit single “GEEK” featuring drill rapper Kenzo B, who she reached out to for a collaboration. Following that, in less than a year Shani Boni has been featured on hit songs with famous drill rappers Asian Doll and Dougie B, performed with rapper Latto on tour, and has racked up more than a million views for her incomparable flow in several of her freestyles.
UNLOCKING HER PASSION
"YOUNG, DRIVEN AND READY Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, she’s one the youngest successful female drill rappers on the scene currently. But don’t be mistaken, she may be young, but she’s always been making music. Earlier this month she sat down with host Gabe P on “On the Radar Radio” where she opened up about her life, difficult experiences, and her fast growing music career Beginning at a very young age, she had a passion for hip hop and was heavily influenced by her father who was also a rapper. However, she was not allowed by her father to record music at the studio. That is until she snuck away for a 1-hour recording session at the age of 15 to record her first song “Should have known” that she paid for solely and walked 18 minutes to record. The song she recorded was released on Soundcloud and quickly gained traction across her school and later across the city, making the rest of what happened next history. Her reasons for her passion evolved over time. Originally, she says her music was for her own fun and entertainment. But as she became older, she began using music to heal and discuss her most prominent experiences and teachings in her life and the community she comes from According to her interview on “On the Radar Radio”, it wasn’t until her cousin’s passing that she rediscovered her fondness for rapping after a long break. When she returned to the rap game, she returned with an even bigger presence and sound for more to hear.

Banks Management also features other notable rappers we all know such as Kay Flock, Dougie B, and BabyFace. Shani Boni is currently working on her first EP which she hasn’t decided on a title for yet Although she anticipates using new sounds other than drill music, her concern lies in the interest of her targeted fans. Even still, she plans to discuss a variety of topics with a concrete flow that’s familiar to the New York City sound. She’s most excited for her next collaboration with rapper TG Crippy and the many more she hopes to have in the future. For now, we can listen to her latest single and video for “Gimme Dat” while we wait for her highly anticipated EP She’s on her way to the top, and she’s bringing the city with her! Speaking of Louisville, though Kentucky's own EST Gee has recently made massive headlines, and now has earned the spot as our Next Generation Rapper of the Month! Born George Albert Stone III, rapper EST Gee was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 11, 1994 His original passion was football, and it served him well. Stone was a top linebacker in Kentucky, known for its fanatic sports culture He'd excel in his football career and earn a scholarship to play at Indiana State University, where he majored in Communications and graced his family as a first generation student.

Despite his talent on the field, the street life in Louisville caused him trouble, leading to unexpected drug trafficking charges in 2016 After deciding to drop out of college, Stone faced four months of house arrest. While seemingly dark at the time, soon to be rapper Big Gee would use his time in isolation to experiment with music and eventually develop the desire to pursue rap The transition from state level athlete to up and coming rapper helped the young shiner reach new heights due to his unique abilities and low key persona KENTUCKY'S OWN Stone began rapping under the moniker "Big Gee," but after gaining some skin in the game, switched his name to EST Gee The "Everybody Shines Together" rapper signed with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group (CMG). Under Yo Gotti's guidance and support, he'd boldly go on to represent Kentucky as one of the first trap inspired artists to break out of Louisville A humble beginning as an athlete allowed Gee to learn discipline, and his involvement in the streets helped create a vision that would lead him to his North Star The rapper also has strong roots with fellow Kentucky bar spitter Jack Harlow, who often connects with Gee and references him as a close friend and collaborator.
EARLY CAREER SUCCESS Gee self released three mixtapes: "El Toro," "Die Bloody," and "Ion Feel Nun " His fourth project “I Still Don’t Feel Nun” was released under Interscope Records which exposed Gee to mainstream audiences. His apathetic generally unphased style and gritty yet high caliber storytelling ability drove him into underground rap stardom Gee raps, "ask around the city; they gon' tell you that we dangerous. Gangster put that metal in your mouth like some braces " EST also boasts some clever word schemes On the song Capital One, he flexes, "Big Gee the capitol one, what's in your wallet?" a funny reference to the widespread commercial and proper use of his name Jack Harlow's "Route 66" launched Gee onto the radar of influential audiences, and he's had consistent wins since EST Gee worked with rap superstars early on, including Future on "Chickens" and Lil Baby’s "Real As It Gets."
