VICTORIA CROSS - A rare and very old replacement VC named to PTE G Ravenhill 2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers and dated 15th December 1899, the date he won his original cross. This VC was awarded for the Battle of Colenso when he made a brave attempt to save the guns of 14th and 66th Batteries RFA. He was one of the few to survive. His VC was forfeited when he was convicted of stealing some iron. This well worn cross is the one he wore until his original was given back to him.
