Norfolk 1667 - El Norwich to Great Yarmouth - 26th October. Letter from Thomas Ward in Norwich to Pengelly then residing 'in Yarmouth at Mr Hargs in the new broad row'. A charge of 1 (penny) seems to have been raised, this is noted at the foot of the address. Several complaints about the Yarmouth postmaster during October and November 1667 are recorded in the State Papers. In one he is referred to as 'an idle fellow, chosen by an ale-house keeper' - early and rare
