Originally established in 1995, Sign Directions is a leading independent UK trade magazine that covers all aspects of the sign and display sectors. It is also the only UK journal to enjoy the official support of the British Sign & Graphics Association

With a circulation of 6,500 and an estimated readership in excess of 20,000, the magazine is the voice of the sign and display sectors and is distributed to sign and digital print companies, of all denominations. Published seven times a year, each issue of Sign Directions includes at least one special feature highlighting a specific area of industry activity, plus several regular sections covering industry news, projects, digital developments, routing and engraving,software and the rapidly growing dĂŠcor sector. In addition, each issue also offers a range of topical features, supplier spotlights and company profiles. The magazine also has its own website, www.signdirectionsonline.co.uk which offers regular news updates and also offers digital versions of all of the articles and features included within the magazine. In addition, readers can download the current and previous issues in pdf format and also post any job vacancies that they wish to publicise, free of charge. A second website, www.decordirections.co.uk provides a fitting showcase for all of the latest projects and products that are relevant to the dĂŠcor sector.

Recruitment online Online recruitment advertisements are offered free of charge. Simply visit the Job Search section of www.signdirectionsonline.co.uk and select the ‘Submit a job’ option, to post the details. Once approved, vacancies will stay on the site for 30 days from the date of posting.

Promotional opportunities on the website Advertising Advertising opportunities for both signdirectionsonline and decordirections are limited to regular advertisers with the magazine, who are invited to take advantage of the range of header banners and buttons that are available on a complimentary basis. A regular advertiser is deemed to be any company that places more than three advertisements in the magazine within a 12 month period.
Editorial Editorial submissions received from companies that advertise within the magazine take priority when posting articles to the websites. Other editorial submissions are used according to their content and interest value. However, we do offer a subscription service and an ad hoc charge for companies that wish to guarantee inclusion of their press releases on www.signdirectionsonline.co.uk and/orwww.decordirections.co.uk, as follows: Two to four editorial submissions per month, per six month period: ÂŁ950.00 Two to four editorial submissions per month, per 12 month period: ÂŁ1600.00 Press releases will be posted to the site(s) within 24 hours of receipt. Subscriptions will be charged annually, in advance. Single ad hoc submissions: ÂŁ120.00 each
Weekly Newsletters
Every Thursday our newsletter, which includes five of the stories that appear on our website, is mailed to approximately 5000 readers. The cost for the lead story position is: ÂŁ350.00 The cost for subsequent positions is: ÂŁ175.00
List rental We offer companies the opportunity to use our e-mail list, which contains approximately 5000 names, for their own promotional campaigns. The cost varies depending on what precisely is required, but as a guide, the average price is ÂŁ600.00
Technical Specifications All advertising copy to be digitally supplied to Sign Directions must adhere to the following specifications:
Adobe Acrobat PDF files (preferred format) PDF files must have all fonts embedded and be high resolution (350dpi), CMYK colour separating. To avoid confusion, a set of Sign Directions ’Acrobat distiller settings are available on request.
Quark Xpress Files supplied must be created in Apple Mac platform versions of Quark. They should be supplied with all necessary fonts, eps files, images etc. All images used within the document must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK tiff format. All colours must be CMYK separating.
Adobe Illustrator Files must be created in Apple Mac platform versions of Adobe Illustrator. They should be supplied with all necessary fonts, eps files, images etc. All images used within the document must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK format.
Adobe Photoshop Files must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK Tiff format. All copy must have a filename consisting of Issue date and advertiser name.
If sending in files on disk or CD, please ensure that a laser proof is attached for checking.
Please add 3mm for all bleed advertisements
Adverts created in PC applications i.e.: Corel Draw, Photopaint, Publisher and PC versions of Quark Xpress, Illustrator etc., must be supplied as Adobe Acrobat PDF files, using the correct distiller settings.
