How To Tie An Improved Clinch Knot
The Improved Clinch Knot is one of the most commonly used knots for securing a fishing line to a hook. It is also very easy to tie. The following instructions will show you how to tie this knot.
1. Pass the line through the eye of the hook.
2. Make a loop and hold it between your thumb and forefinger.
3. Take the tag end and make 5 to 7 turns around the loop and line coming from the eye of the hook.
4. Slide the loops off your finger taking care not to pull out any line from behind them as you do this.
5. Grasp both standing lines (the one attached to the fly and the one coming from the eye of the hook) and pull tight. You have now tied the Improved Clinch Knot.
The Improved Clinch Knot is a very strong knot and is often used to attach a leader to the fly line. It can also be used to attach tippet material to a fly. This knot can be used in fresh and salt water with good results. See more: https://fishinghacking.com/how-to-tie-an-improved-clinch-knot/
