SEPTEMBER 2013 (2) - NEWSLETTER PTFA CAKE SALE
TRIPS
Following last week’s PTFA AGM, the first event of the year has been planned for Thursday 19th September. From 3pm onwards a cake sale will take place in the hall. Donations of cakes, biscuits, muffins, etc. would be greatly appreciated and can be brought into the school office on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. Tea, coffee and squash on sale. All money raised will go towards the PTFA. It would be great to see as many children and parents as possible to join together for a cake and a chat. Tea, coffee and squash will be available. Cakes usually start at 20p, so please bring along your pennies. Due to this, there will be no after school choir this week.
As well as the Year 3 – 6 trip to Framlingham Castle and town (date changed to Tuesday 24th September due to half day closing) there are a number of other trips planned for this term… On Thursday 24th October (last day before half term) we have been fortunate to have been allocated free cinema tickets to go to Aldeburgh Cinema to watch ‘My Neighbor Totoro’. The screening starts at 10am – more details to follow. This film receives excellent reviews on the IMDb website.
HOW HILL MEETING A reminder that the information meeting for the How Hill Residential Trip (Year 3 and above) is this week on Wednesday 18th September. The meeting commences at 6pm and should last for approximately half an hour. Children are more than welcome!
We have also provisionally booked tickets for the following Christmas shows: Thursday 5th December (1.30pm) – Dick Whittington Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto (Year 2 – 6) at the Wolsey Theatre. Wednesday 18th December (11am) – The Elves and the Shoemaker (Reception & Year 1) at the Wolsey Studio.
HARVEST MEAL Thank you to those parents who have ‘signed up’ to our Harvest Meal on Monday 23rd September. We do need to know final adult numbers by Wednesday 18th. Please make sure that your children are also aware if you are joining them for lunch!
DIARY DATES
HARVEST GIFTS For our Harvest Festival, we would appreciate any donations of non-perishable items (tins, dried food, packets, etc) which will be distributed to the Ormiston Children and Families Trust based in Ipswich. The trust works to promote the well-being of children and young people, especially those disadvantaged by their life experiences or circumstances. We would like items to be brought into school by Friday (20th) to enable the church to be decorated. Thank you.
