JANUARY (2) 2012 - NEWSLETTER NEWS IN BRIEF th

Car park – it has got to the time of year where the car park is becoming more and more congested meaning an increase in safety concerns. A number of plants and sprouting bulbs have been ‘flattened’ by cars being parked on the grass verges. This does also mean that people are getting in/out of their vehicles straight onto the main access route into the car park, which is dangerous. We’re aware that some parents need to get away from the school promptly, so please remember that there is the option of parking in the village and walking, if at all you can. We are incredibly fortunate to have a car park at all, but would like to remind all parents that it does not actually belong to the school. There is no immediate solution to this issue, other than everyone showing consideration towards one another and our school environment. Thank you for your anticipated understanding of this difficult situation.
EDUCATIONAL VISITS Following a review of our procedures for educational visits, we will be making some changes. For all day trips (museums, field trips, etc) we are requesting that parents fill in Suffolk County Council’s ‘Parental Consent Form’ (PC/07). This is the same consent form which is currently required for taking children on residential trips. The main purpose of this is to ensure that staff have all necessary details available, at hand, when they are leading a trip.
JACK AND THE BEANSTALK On Sunday 22nd January ‘Puzzle House Pantomimes’ are performing their family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, at Earl Soham Village Hall. All tickets are £6.00, with the show starting at 3pm. Having seen details of our recent burglary in the local press, the cast (who are all Suffolk based) have kindly decided to donate all profits to the school. Tickets are available on: (01379) 384656. For further information, please see the poster on the notice board.
IPSWICH TOWN TICKETS There are two more fixtures for which the school is able to order discounted tickets (£20 adults, £3 children) for Ipswich Town matches. This term, tickets are available for the following home fixtures which all have a 3 o’ clock kick-off: MIDDLESBROUGH – Sat 11th February PETERBOROUGH – Sat 17th March If you’d like further details, or a booking form, please speak to Mr Pearce.
