James Matthews 07506 484 017 jamesmatthewsflicks@gmail.com 71 Kingsway, Caversham, Reading, RG4 6RH Personal Statement I am a Photographer and Retoucher with four years of experience working in professional photography studios as well as ten years amateur experience as a freelancer in my own time. Intuition and focus are my strengths when approaching jobs and I am able to successfully achieve tight deadlines with maximum quality to the client’s specifications. I find it easy working in teams and integrating into any working environment.

Skills I have experience using software and systems such as -: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Canon, Capture One, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Nikon. I am competent using Apple or Windows machines.

Experience I Heart Studios – Photographer (Harrods) – March 2018 – Present As a photographer for I Heart Studios my daily activities require me to liaise with a stylist in regards to what we are shooting for the day. This also includes the building of the set to achieve the best results and can mean shooting anything up to 60 garments front and back in either still life or unrecognisable body model shots.

My knowledge of lighting set ups and Capture One help me to quickly and efficiently have the set ready for my stylist by the time they have prepared all of our garments. Coding is also vital at I Heart for the client to find due to high volumes of e-commerce shots. I have adapted to quick processes to achieve a maximum amount of shots with high quality web based shots.

Nohalide Digital – Studio Photographer November 2014 – February 2018 Nohalide is known to its loyal clients for a high level of quality in styling and lighting. We would usually be called upon where others have failed to achieve the highest standard of styling and retouching or if a particular product is tricky to shoot.

Working directly for Nohalide I was shooting and retouching a wide range of e-commerce images.

My talent lies in knowing how to light and style any product efficiently so that it’s ready for shooting while following strict briefs and guidelines and using industry standard equipment and software.

As a senior member of staff I was usually called upon in management absence to direct a team of photographers, stylists and retouchers to achieve the most efficient way of completing our work.

I am confident fully retouching or shooting any form of garment, accessory or model from shaping right down to colour matching and keeping consistency in mind - examples of which can be found in my portfolio.

Clients I have shot for include ASOS, Banana Republic, GAP, Marie Claire, M&S, Sainsburys and Selfridges.
