James McMullen

James McMullen was born in Denver, Colorado by mistake. Since that's roughly as far away from the ocean as it's possible to get, he's spent most of his adult life trying to correct for this tactical error by obsessing about boats and water full time. Since 1989 James has built 55 boats and counting. . . . . Although James has worked on everything from sea kayaks to schooners, his personal favorite type is a traditional Sail & Oar boat. He has travelled pretty much the entire Salish Sea under wind and muscle power in boats he built himself. James and Kate live two blocks from Fidalgo Bay with more Springer Spaniels, bicycles, skis and sea kayaks per capita than is probably reasonable.
