29th Annual Dine & Bid Benefit Auction

SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2015 All proceeds benefit University of Jamestown student scholarships.

Raindrops and Roses “Raindrops and Roses” inspires us to think about the spring and summer seasons that follow our long North Dakota winters. It’s a great concept! Dine and Bid is another sign of spring and of renewal. UJ scholarships support our great students as they bring fresh vitality and energy to our community. At the very center of this traditional evening is the recognition that we are stronger together than apart, and that the University is important to our prosperity and to our cultural identity as a community. Farmers and settlers in early Jamestown knew the value of providing for a college that would develop educated citizens. Over one hundred and thirty years later, we celebrate together the rich resource that we know as the University of Jamestown. We continue to add new academic programs and to extend our athletic, cultural and recreational opportunities for students and the community. Donna and I are proud to welcome you to the 29th annual Dine and Bid Dinner and Auction to benefit student scholarships. This is such an important time in our history together. Our Nursing department is now at home in their labs in the McKenna-Thielsch Science Center alongside our science programs; the renovated Orlady Hall provides those departments with exceptional and up-todate classrooms and offices. The Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Fargo is completing its second successful year, and next year we will begin to offer an M.A. degree in Leadership beginning in Jamestown. Once again, our alumni and friends make it possible for the University of Jamestown to serve as a beacon for higher learning in the upper Midwest. Your support tonight is vital to our students and to our future, so please bid with fervor in support of the top-ranked US News college or university in North Dakota—University of Jamestown! We thank each of you for your continuing support and we hope that you will share in our joy this evening. I add our special thanks to all those staff and volunteers who work so tirelessly to make tonight’s food and festivities a reality. Let the celebration begin! Sincerely,

Bob and Donna Badal (University of Jamestown President and First Lady are your hosts for the evening.)

Are the dice in your favor? Here is your chance to win big money and share big money with the Scholarship Fund! You have the opportunity to bid on your favorite group for the Student 50/50 Auction and Event. Student teams will compete in a game of luck as they rise to the top. The proceeds from all five winning bids will be combined and split 50/50 between University of Jamestown and the bidders who selected the winning student group.

Keep your fingers crossed! This is how it will work: 1. Representatives from five student groups will face off tonight as they race to the top. Each team will take turns rolling the dice- if they roll a “2” and a “5” teams 2 and 5 get to move forward one space on the game board. The five highest bidders will each select the University of Jamestown student group they think will be the winners of the Student 50/50 Auction and Event. Each bidder will select one representative who will participate in the game. The representative will have two students from the student group to assist them.
