Knight at the Oscars

Dine and Bid Benefit Auction 2018

A Message from the President Roll out the red carpet! Our “Knight at the Oscars” theme for the 32nd Dine and Bid reminds me of the many honors earned by our students, alumni, teams, and the University as a whole. These would not be possible without your support, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Darin and I are honored to welcome you to tonight’s dinner and auction to benefit student scholarships. At the very center of this traditional evening is the recognition that we are stronger together than apart, and that the University is important to our prosperity and to our cultural identity as a community. Together, we will continue the Journey as we build success stories for our students and for the community. That is our tradition, our calling, and our mission. Enjoy an evening of conversation, fine dining, and enthusiastic bidding in support of scholarships for our students. We thank you all for your continuing support, and we add our special thanks to all those staff and volunteers who work so tirelessly to make tonight’s auction, food and festivities a reality. Lights, camera, action! Sincerely, Polly and Darin Peterson (Our University of Jamestown President and her husband are the hosts of this evening’s festivities)

All arrangements are to be made between the donor and the buyer within one month of the auction, unless otherwise specified. All trips, items, and services must be used within one year of the auction, unless otherwise specified. Silent Auction Bidding Procedure To bid on a Silent Auction item, write your bidding number and the amount of your bid on the form provided. Student 50/50 Auction and Event at 7:30 p.m.

You bid, they perform. Here is your chance to win big money and share big money with the Scholarship Fund! You have the opportunity to bid on your favorite group for the Student 50/50 Auction and Event. Student teams will compete for the best Oscar winning performance. The proceeds from all five winning bids will be combined and split 50/50 between University of Jamestown and the bidders who selected the winning student group. This is how it will work: 1. After an initial introduction of each team, the five student groups will be auctioned off. The five highest bidders will each select the University of Jamestown student group they think will be the winners of the Student 50/50 Auction and Event. Get together and bid with your friends or table companions! 2. Representatives from the five student groups will then face off as they compete in a lip sync battle. 3. Following all of the group performances, each crowd member will place their vote via the ticket at the back of their Dine and Bid catalog. Check the team that had tonight’s Oscar winning performance. 4. The group receiving the highest number of votes is the winner of the 50/50 Auction for the person/table that bid on them. The bidder will go home with half of the pot!
