Lone Stone Farms Invitational Female Sale

Welcome to Lone Stone Farms Invitational Female Sale Welcome to the 2019 edition of the Lone Stone Farms Invitational Female Sale. It may be a little smaller than in past years but be reassured the quality is here. Its not easy consigning females every year to a sale. You need to keep some good ones for your own herd but you also need to sell front end females as well. Our consignors seem to enjoy bringing their girls to our sale as we try to keep things simple. We seem to all be on the same page for feeding and displaying. So when you come you will notice that there is such similarity in type and condition that it would appear they all came out of the same herd. Lone Stone is honored to have these consignors work together with us to put on a great sale. We feel very confident you will find a female at our sale that will make an impact in your herd. Please come and enjoy a great meal, visit with fellow cattlemen, and be very comfortable in our warm & spacious sale facility. Looking forward to seeing you all on Sale day. Welcome to the 2019 edition of the Lone Stone Female Sale. We are always grateful for our wonderful friends, the Browns. Thank you again for being such amazing hosts and including us in your fantastic event. It’s been another trying year and Mother Nature has pushed us all to our limits. The silver lining to a challenging year in the fields has been the cattle. Lots of grass, heavier weaning weights and great condition on our cattle makes a tough year a little easier. We decided to select two of our top bred heifers from each of our calving programs, January and May. These heifers are both front end females that we would love to keep, but can’t wait to see what they do at their new homes. We look forward to seeing you all in November in Westlock, and if you are unable to attend the sale, feel free to contact us or the incredible crew at Transcon Livestock. Sincerely Keegan and Brad 12

She is a hard working Regio female backed by her powerhouse dam RJR Penny 7P. The udder quality on the Regina cow is what we strive for on every female, and we are certain Franny will be no different as she is setting up an impeccable one. Her depth of body and muscle expression, while maintaining a soft feminine look, is what we have come to really respect about the Blueprint females.

This beautiful Glover daughter is the only heifer of ours in this sale that has not been put through a 5 day halter breaking program. We decided to add her to the sale at a later date since it took that long to convince the whole family to part with her. Her dam is a farm favorite whom the girls showed in local fairs a few years ago. Finna is 9 generations of our own breeding! It doesn’t get much more home grown than that. She comes from a line of females all with great udders and wonderful dispositions, as well as longevity as her great great grandam is still producing in our herd today as an old ‘S’ cow. Here are the first set of Keato Pld Directors Cut heifers and we are very excited to see how they perform! So far we are thrilled with the growth, coloring, and conformation across these females, as well as his consistent calving ease. These Directors Cut daughters were serviced by one of our own yearling bulls, Swantewitt Hal, sired by Double Bar D Haldor 910A who ranks in the top 1% of the breed for calving ease and whose dam is coming up on 14 years and remains a top producing cow. Fantastic is a female with some calving ease genetics on the sire side but still growth and performance coming from the Brink genetics on her dam’s side.

Now Fluffy is an accurate name for this bred heifer as she has loads of hair! She’s one of our Swantewitt Calibre daughters, who we are just going to be calving out for the first time this year. Our family halter breaks all of the bulls and heifers that we sell through our sales in order to be certain they have manageable dispositions and are safe to handle. We have found the Calibre daughters and sons are consistently quiet and some of the easiest we’ve ever had to halter break. Fluffy is no exception. She comes from a line of great milking females on her dam’s side all with perfect feet and 5 generations of our own breeding. Another very prolific cow family, we have many females related to her in our herd today since it seems that these females always raise cows.

Fara’s dam is a big, robust cow who weans off one of the larger calves year after year. We have half sisters to Fara in our herd producing today. She has the potential to be quite a powerful female!

Welcome everybody to the 3rd Annual Lone Stone Invitational Female Sale. We thank Lonnie and Karen and Nathan and Alisha for the opportunity to bring a selection of bred heifers to this year’s sale. Thank you to everybody who came out and supported our breeding program in the past. Please feel welcome to contact us about our 2019 offering or better yet stop by for a visit and see for yourself. It has been a challenging year for sure, one of the coldest February’s, driest May, wettest July and a long drawn out, still not finished harvest season, but the cows had a very good pasture. Along with that she packs a punch with a weaning weight EPD of +60 and +104 for yearling weight respectively. She rates in the top 1% on both traits in the Canadian Angus EPDs. Her sire, Red KBJ Griz 01D, was one of the high selling bulls in the KBJ dispersal sale. He has grown to be one of our senior herdsires and as a 3 year old easily topped 2700 lbs on pasture during the breeding season. He is one of the most easy doing bulls we have ever had, he gains already just smelling food. Combine that with 104F’s dam, Red Hazel Bluff Martina 23A, who is a designated Elite cow in the Canadian Herdbook. Her calves have an average index of 110 and her EPDs for weaning and yearling weight rate in the top 7% and 6% respectively. 104F is bred to Red Excel Extra Traction 19E whose first calf crop averaged 86 lbs at birth. BW: 90. adjWW: 652. Exposed April 10 to July 1 to Wilbar Commando 406E 1980611. Due early April. A Really Windy daughter that is hard to give up as the Windy daughters have been a great asset to our Dwajo herd with nice front ends, capacity and great udders. Tibbie 59X has produced sons that have gone to Mexico, and one was our high selling bull a few years ago at the On Target Bull Sale to Sunny Bend Colony. She is one of the top producing cows in our cowherd and with this combo 23F will work well for you also.

Pride 84W has produced 2 bulls that sold to John Prin and TGA Angus and 2 females retained in herd and 1 to Lone Stone. This will be one of the last Stongholds to sell as we lost him to injury last year. The Stronghold females have had nice udders and calved easy. Deep was bought out of the KBJ Dispersal who with his dam was in the top 3 to sell at the sale. Deep’s EPD for Birth is -03 for calving ease.

A paternal sister to 123F with Revolver in the pedigree who has done a good job at Lone Stone and Cinder. 40X, the dam, has done a good job producing for us, producing bulls to Diamond Willow, Triple MP Farms and Kary Cattle Company and she has also produced daughters to Mexico and EPP Farms. 40X has some pedigree to back her up as well. The 10T bull, the sire of 40X, was bronze medalist at 2009 World Angus Forum. The 4H Superior cow family produced bulls like Gladiator, 10T and Wildcard that worked well in many purebred herds. The 78K dam had produced 14 calves at our place so longevity that works. Bred KBJ Deep 906D.

Couldn’t ask for a classier set of heifers to start off our Red Angus female offering. Coming from our Red Mar Mac Top Secret bull they exhibit a perfect amount of bone and body. We only got to use the bull for two seasons. These females phenotypically look to be the right kind of matrons for any herd.

One of the main reasons we went after the Red Mar Mac Top Secret bull at the Mar Mac sale in 2017 was his performance potential. His females look like they are carrying that performance in their genetic make up. These daughters will be the first to calve out. I can’t wait to see what my retained daughters are going to present me.
