studies Before we started making robot fishes, we did studies about oceanography very cautiously. We made the machine based on fishes’ physical stucture. The appearance copied the real ones completely. Also, the operation of the robots was settled from our observation of fishes. Upper pictures are notes I made during the studies about different ocean creatures. Lower ones were images from videos we watch.

the Making of robots It was a long process making a robot fish. First, we designed the structure and prepare the motors. Then, we tested each motor and connected them together. After the frame was done, we did the settings with remote controller. Second, we worked on the appearance. The head and fins are carved out and attached to the body. The skin was glued together after putting cotton in. The weight of the robot was also calculated with accuracy. Then it could move on to waterproof treatment and painting the skin. The last part of making is testing. A robot usually is tested more than 5 times before being done for perfection.

the works In the project, we finished 3 giant robot which are over 3 meters included a Nessie. They are able to be rided by one to two human beings. Other 20 medium ones were also made for performances. We even made two water wheel chairs for people who can’t swim.

the events After the making workshop, we started to hold special events for children and patients. There were official event like grand opening of our studio and performance held in National Aquarium. We also held educational workshop teaching children how to make fish with waste bottles.
