Bodoni Regular Knockout Junior Welterweight
La Imprenta, which translates into The Printing Office or The Printing Press, is a rustic Spanish restaurant which is situated in the Old City of London. The theme of the restaurant celebrates and pays homage to traditional printing methods such as woodblock type and letterpress and this is reflected in the banding of the restaurant.

I wanted to reflect and pay respect to traditional printing methods through my design so I researched into imagery and posters. I also had a look at restaurant branding which had a rustic feel to it.

I have taken the photographs from the website of a small chain of restaurants called IbĂŠrica, they illustrate how I picture the interiors of La Imprenta to look like. IbĂŠrica is also a contemporary rustic spanish restaurant based in London and the aesthetic of the interior suit my restuarant well. The big open space could illustrate how the restaurant could have been refurbished in an old printing house.

I’d would have quite like to have a very basic type of parallax scrolling on my website, much like is shown in the images (right). I liek the simplicity of this website, navigating through each pages ismady easy because of the fixed menu at the side, which also contains social media buttons & credits.
I think the most effective forms of website design for a restaurant is one which is easy to navigate through all of the pages. It needs to be simple to accomodate for the type of audience which can be quite wide, ranging from elderly technophobes to 20 something business types.

I have coded a fully working website for la Imprenta and I have mocked up how it would work on other platforms. I decided against the idea of proposing an app as their is only one fictional restaurant and I feel like apps are only needed if there are chain of restaurants or if it is well known, etc.
The website has 6 webpages, including reviews & contacts page. Also, both ‘Food’ & ‘Drinks’ page have a PDF attachment of the menu’s.
