As always, the entire offering has been managed here at Twin View since mid summer. The goal in this is to present a uni form, consistently prepared offering to make your selection process much simpler. Without having to sort through a variety of management and presentation methods, you’re able to make the best selection for your operation. The heifers are expected to be out grazing the bulk of the time and to travel for water. These are not pampered show heifers. We take great pride in the preparation and common sense presentation of these females! We are proud Canadian Gelbvieh Association members and work to include the orange Gelbvieh RFID buttons and as well as utilizing DNA parentage, polled and colour testing.

We would be honoured to have you visit anytime prior to the sale. It would be our privilege to personally walk you through the females or virtually via a personal video call. You’ll notice QR codes with each lot. Scan that with your smartphone camera and you’ll be taken directly to that animals video. Be sure to enjoy our hospitality following the sale with what is sure to be one of the best meals you’ll have this fall! Function and Finesse celebrates the ladies of Gelbvieh. Be sure to bring your leading ladies along for the evening as well!

It has been incredibly rewarding for us to gather this fourth set of females! We continue to visit countless Gelbvieh programs around North America and have the great pleasure of seeing these females at work in their new environments. From the rough and mountainous terrain of Washington to the lush paddocks of eastern Ontario up to the harsh climate of northern Alberta and the drought conditions of southern Saskatchewan, we get to see countless Function and Finesse alumni at work. In this offering, you’ll see cow families who’ve been so influential within the breed and you’ll find females who have been mothered by past sale purchases. Function and Finesse females are working! Our mission is to provide you with the best of the best, to ensure consistency is bred in and they aren’t a one off success story. We personally inspect every foot and udder in the family behind each lot and we’re proud to put the Function and Finesse stamp on them!

Welcome to Function and Finesse 4.0! We can hardly believe this is the fourth time we’ve assembled an exceptional offering of Gelbvieh females. The most constant factor remains our sincere thanks for your ongoing interest in this endeavour and your continued support as we work to provide the most sought after Gelbvieh genetics in Canada. It is a huge year for our breed as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Canadian Gelbvieh and we’re excited to be a part of it!

KERINESS CATTLE CO. AND JONUS CATTLE / Joe (403) 852-7332, Kert (403) 860-4634

Two programs; one family team! The father son duo of Kert and Joe Ness purchased their first Gelbvieh females in partnership with Mountain View Farm in 1995. They were drawn to the breed by the cows and the people. Kert, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, owned a down hole tubing sales company for the oilfield. Like father like son, Joe earned his Welding Engineering and Technology degree from SAIT. Kert was raised on a mixed farm in east central Alberta before heading off to the big city but was pulled back to farming. Kert purchased the farm west of Airdrie and soon they took over the operations of their purebred cattle. Together they have built what you find today. With the help of Cindy at Kert’s side and Brenda keeping Joe in line, the team calves 60 females and markets bulls privately each spring. Both Ness’ have been contrib utors to boards and are among the most generous supporters of all things Gelbvieh!

JSJ LIVESTOCK / James (431) 740-5443, Shayla (204) 741-0018, jsjlivestock.com

JSJ Livestock began in 2007 after visiting Agribition the previous fall. James and Shayla both came from commercial cattle backgrounds but were quickly won over by the Gelbvieh breed. Together with their kids Ethan, Aidan and Louelle at Hartney, MB, the Jaspers purchased their first females through the DTJ dispersal. They also purchased the entire herd belonging to Hall of Fame Inductees, Camille and Judy Gofflat. Since then, James and Shayla have been key contributors to the promotion of Gelbvieh in Canada with their involvement on provincial and national boards. James is the current president of the Canadian Gelbvieh Association. They calve approximately 80 females and have enjoyed success with influential cattle like donor cow, JSJ Baha 35B and Brandon AgEx Champion, JSJ Crush 8C. They have recently converted to a fall calving program and market bulls through an online auction each spring.

LAST MOUNTAIN LIVESTOCK / Mark (306) 725-8198, Garrett (306) 725-7154, Levi (306) 725-7860 The early roots of Last Mountain Livestock date to pre-1900 when both Mark and Glenda’s ancestors ar rived near Strasbourg, SK. Mark’s family began at the existing farm in 1967 following a house fire. They soon embarked into the dairy business for 30 years prior to dispersing that herd in 2005. As their sons, Garrett and Levi, became more active in the farm, the commercial herd grew to 400 females alongside their grain production. Johnson’s began using Gelbvieh bulls commercially and found themselves with an opportunity to buy the ‘C’ aged heifers from McCoy Cattle Co. Those females were mated to The Boxer who became a National Champion. Mark and Glenda have ‘slowed down’ to town living while Garrett & Kelsey and Levi & Teanna have taken a larger role in the farm operations including offering bulls by private treaty.

Goodview Gelbvieh was established in 1999 by Blair & Lorie Bentz and their family at Punnichy, Sas katchewan. They were operating a mixed farm including 65 dairy cows as well as a small commercial beef herd and crops. They were introduced to the Gelbvieh breed by a high school friend and felt the traits of the breed were the ideal compliment to their commercial herd. They soon purchased ‘the origi nal six’ purebred cows and Goodview Gelbvieh began! The dairy cows were dispersed and the Gelbvieh herd grew. An early emphasis on cow families remains evident today with names like Maureen, Maxine, Winnie and Magic. The Bentz family has made great contributions to the breed through board work as well as Blair volunteering as Barn Boss at Agribition for the last 14 years. Goodview Gelbvieh was the Purebred Breeder of the Year in 2019. Their bulls are well accepted through the Best of the Breeds Bull Sale each spring.

Triple S Cattle Company was created in 2004 by the Spray family of Preeceville, SK. Brian and Karen Spray raised their family in the area and their son Brett quickly became and integral part of the operation. With both Brian and Brett working road construction to grow the farming opera tion, the family entered into the Gelbvieh breed in 1996 as ideal cross for their primarily Charolais cowherd. They became CGA members in 2005 and began assembling a group of purebred females. Brett, together with his wife Krystal, have wholeheartedly become part of the Gelbvieh community. Their daughters, Amber, Hailey and Rebecca are active in the day to day happenings of the farm and are quickly increasing their talents with cattle through 4-H. Brett currently serves in the Man/ SK Gelbvieh board and the family markets two year old bulls directly from the farm gate each year.

LEDGERWOOD GELBVIEH / Samee (509) 566-8805, ledgerwoodgelbvieh@gmail.com

Although the Diamond Z name is relatively new to purebred circles, history runs deep. Grant grew up spending time on his family’s grain farm while Jacquie’s family spent time with purebred Here ford and commercial cattle. Her family even exhibited at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Grant’s family relocated to the Rouleau area in the 1970’s near where the current farm is. Marrying in 1985, Grant and Jacquie knew they wanted to raise their kids, Kaitlin and Ryan, in a rural setting. In the early 1990’s Grant & Jacquie began with a commercial herd. While looking for a heifer bull in 2017, they came across the Gelbvieh breed and have never looked back. Now, with their son Ryan and his girlfriend Kaci active in the day to day operations, the family have embarked on an aggressive embryo program to build their purebred herd with some of the great cows in the breed. They sell bulls privately from the farm.

TRIPLE S CATTLE COMPANY / Brett (306) 614-9049

The Ledgerwood family have thrived in the rugged terrain of southeastern Washington since 1951. Samee’s first exposure to Gelbvieh cattle came in 1993 at the Dale Gelbvieh Ranch with her dad looking to buy a bull. They found a pair in the sale with a week old bull calf who looked like he was a month. The cow was put into the girl’s names and the cowherd began. In 2001 while at a Junior show, the family found a classified ad selling Gelbvieh bulls. Looking at one bull led to the purchase of the entire herd which doubled the herd. Females were added at many sales through the early 2000’s. Now with husband Pete Charriere, the purebred herd includes some 160 purebred cows as well as a select group of Red Angus females. Ledgerwood Gelbvieh was the 2016 American Gelb vieh breeder of the year. Bulls are marketed each spring in their annual sale.

DIAMOND Z LIVESTOCK / Grant (306) 526 - 9743, Ryan (306) 536-6057

RPS GELBVIEH / Ryan (306) 342-7259

RPS Gelbvieh, led by Ryan & Michelle Sommerfeld, got their start in the breed in 1997 when Ryan’s parents, Ray and Pauline, purchased an aged bull from a neighbour. Their farm roots trace back to 1950 when Ray’s parents started out as a young couple and raised four children. Following that initial exposure to the breed, Sommerfelds purchased a package of 10 purebred heifers that includ ed the matriarch of the influential Natalie cow family. Ryan and Michelle were married in 2006 and became an even larger part of the RPS program. They saw the importance of being active within the breed and soon began showing cattle at Agribition and volunteering for governing boards. Ryan has served many organizations including the CGA and Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association and Michelle has been a part of the Man/SK Gelbvieh board. They market bulls by private treaty off the farm and have a loyal repeat customer base.

AWB TWIN VIEW VENDETTA 99J Sire of Lot 1B

Lot 1, Function and Finesse 4.0…. The influence of our sweet, beloved Sugar! She has become one of the most recognizable females in our breed who simply does so many things right. She has earned the most prolific show career in our breed with National and World titles. In fact she is the only living Gelbvieh female with a World title. More importantly she’s proven to be a true rockstar when it comes to production. The heifer calf who stood at her side winning the world title is now a gorgeous milking two year old, her second son, Kodiak, was popular in our spring bull sale now residing in Missouri and now her third outing as a mother is her best yet with a March bull who will anchor our show string. Her embryo production also exceeds all expectations. Not only does she flush very well but the results are tremendous! An ET son, Pendleton, was one of our features this spring selling to Brittain Farms, we have two bred daughters as well as calves who will make a name for themselves very shortly.

The second mating pairs Sugar with another of our exciting up and comers, Twin View Vendatta. We’ve absolutely loved this bull from an early age and made him part of our fall string where he was National Junior Calf Champion before selling to Stone Gate Farms. Watch for Vendetta at Farmfair. This mat ing will provide calving ease, dark and hairy, moderate

DDN Belly River Fancy mated to Fladeland Element creates the endless potential of lot 2. The team at Goodview selected Fancy through The Gathering. She has matured into an elegant, attractive and sound mother cow who’s already knocking it out of the park with her early production record. Her first son, Hitch, is working successfully in the Goodview pro gram and his influence will come later in this offering. Her second son, Jetson, put a flame to spring bull sale season when he sold for $24000 to Nelson Gelbvieh and Royal Western. Her third son born this spring just so happens to be a full brother to that high seller. The embryo sire, Ele ment, has proven time and again to produce the good ones including a handful of past Function and Finesse females as well as high selling bulls. Element sired the 2021 Bull Futurity Champion, Goodview Jackpot. With Fancy’s success in producing elite bulls and Element’s female mak ing ability, success is a safe bet! Selling three embryos, guaranteeing one pregnancy if implanted by a licensed embryologist. Eligible for Canada and the US. Just be nice to the gentlemen, Fancy!

JSJ Juliette 80J is certainly a special addition to Function and Finesse 4.0! She is the first ever to be offered from the newly designed JSJ breeding program with a move to fall calving. We both stopped in our tracks when we saw her, impressed with her mass and true Gelbvieh character. We were even more impressed when we analyzed her pedigree and found many of the key contributors to the JSJ story including Crush, Beauty 6B, Zap 15Z, Big Time and Unique Lady 27U. Crush was widely admired as a calf when he won Brandon Ag Ex before working for JSJ and Overby Stock Farm. Both of 80J’s grandmothers, Zap 15Z and Beauty 6B, have raised past Function and Finesse lots and 6B also raised notable herdsire, Elite, for Fladeland Livestock. The guesswork is taken care of and consistency is bred into JSJ Juliette 80J. Here’s one to buy with utmost confidence!

What better place to kick off the heifer calf offering than with a direct daughter of the legendary Natalie?! Diamond Z Natalie’s Kamila 16K ET has been a topic of conversation around here since the moment we saw her in pasture. She is stunning! She is so elongated, extra extended, superbly constructed and royally bred. The Zalinko crew stepped up and purchased Natalie in Function and Finesse 2.0, a mother cow who will go down as a great in our breed. Since then they’ve created an ET program entirely around her and the results are nothing short of jaw dropping! If Natalie in the pedigree wasn’t enough, go ahead and add Baha to the mix. One of the newest walking sires at Diamond Z is Twin View Viking, an ET son of the powerful Baha. This is a power player ped igree if there ever was one! Diamond Z Natalie’s Kamila 16K is worthy of a black halter and a ticket to the donor pen. Colour and polled tests are pending. She is special! TRAVELER PHOENIX

Ledgerwood Mercedes 259K was among the first we saw on our tour of the Ledgerwood program but she kept drawing us back. She has an attention commanding look and forces you to love her. From every angle, this is a unique creature who is bred to be an elite mother cow. Her dam is an extremely at tractive, big barreled female who comes high out her shoulder and prowls like cat. Maternal brothers have sold in the Ledgerwood Bull Sale and a maternal sister is working in the program. Samee ranks 259K’s grandmothers, Diamond and Phoenix, as two of the most productive cows to ever walk their pastures. Mercedes’ sire is an impressive flush mate to the widely known Apollo and also to the extremely popular female purchased here by Unger Land and Live stock in 2020. Ever wanted to flash some cash? Get a black Mercedes! 23, 2022

We like to offer a percentage female each year to demonstrate the Gelbvieh merit in cross breeding situations. Diamond Z Kountry Girl 29K may be about the stoutest, widest topped, heavily constructed females in the whole deal. She is a powerhouse! Diamond Z offered a very similar story here last year in a 75% heifer sired by Bonanza that was purchased by Kelsy Schmitz and what a run that duo has had! Kountry Girl’s mother is a very promising half blood female with a great udder. The maternal side of the pedigree includes well known Resilient and an Angus cow. On the paternal side you find Bonanza who has worked so well for both Diamond Z and here at Twin View. A little different genetic makeup, a little different in her design. Dare to be different!

KCC Got A Krush On Me 50K is one we found easily on our tour with her extra length of spine, bold sprung rib shape and cowy look. We were even more excited when we found her super functional young mother with her ideal foot and udder structure. That mother cow is sired by The Heat Is On who was a great breeding piece in the Ness program. Got A Krush’s sire, Active Duty, was selected from our bull sale in 2021. He is a Boxer son out of the Sugar 24A cow making him a full sibling to the great World Champion, Sugar 26F. He is already making us wish we had a spot to use him ourselves. The Boxer has been a runaway success for so many but we could argue he’s worked best at Last Mountain where he continues to roam the pastures. Heifer calves like LML Samantha 16K just keep coming and they are so easy to love! We could also argue few bulls have made females as well as The Boxer. He has consistently had more progeny registered each year as more and more of his daughters prove their value.  The Samantha cow family certainly needs no introduction to the breed and 16K’s mother is a big bodied, boldly constructed female with a commanding presence. If you like broody, heavy muscled yet attractive females then your shopping experience could end right here. Samantha 16K also offers a carcass profile not many purebred cattle can ranking well above average for all carcass traits. This is one you may want to keep your next herd bull out of!

Sometimes writing footnotes for elite females seems unnecessary but LML Emma 31K is a special one worthy of her own page and a lengthy note. To be direct, she is just flat awesome! She has a striking look, is chalked full of meat and muscle, she’s extremely fluid in her movement and she’s attractive beyond measure. A maternal sister is working at Last Mountain and raised a past Function and Finesse entry. A full sister to 31K sold here a year ago to Amber Spray for her 4-H project. In that catalog we talked about how ideal the Emma 24C mother cow is but it’s worth repeating. You will be hard pressed to find a more level topped, maternal, broody looking powerhouse than that Emma 24C. She is simply beautiful! We put an extreme emphasis on cow families and these Emma females just keep setting the bar. LML Emma 31K has all the goods to blow the bar apart and chart her own path. Donor cow, front pasture mother cow, show heifer? Yes, yes, yes!

JSJ Kali 2K offers a bit of an outcross pedigree and brings a past Function and Finesse purchase by the Jaspers back into the limelight. Her dam was pur chased from the Keriness program as a heifer calf and has done an awesome job on her first attempt. That cow traces back to the Samantha cow family mak ing her the third heifer calf in this offering to do so. How’s that for consistency? We can never place enough value on cow families and Samantha females seem to keep floating to the top. She may not be the first to get noticed in the group but take a close look and you’ll find all the makings of an ideal mother cow bred for longevity and maternal capability. Take a close look at her huge performance and carcass EPD profile as well! Kali is a homozygous polled gem with a bright future ahead!

We absolutely appreciate the maternal pedigree in Triple S Kansas 2K! Her dam is sired by Bad Habit, a past Agribition division winner and traces back to Bacardi who created a solid foundation of females at the Sprays. There are few programs that operate as a family quite the way this one does and we were honoured when they let us picture a few of the kids 4-H projects. One of the most intriguing females to cross our lens was a maternal sister to the mother of Kansas 2K. A true beauty! Kansas 2K is sired by one of the newest herd bull additions at Triple S who offers the marketability of Exact Combination out of a really nice Prairie Hills bred cow. Here is a female that will do nothing but get better everyday you own her and if we were to venture a guess, she will create as much return on investment as any.

On August 26, Rustin Sonntag was born to Aaron’s sister, Gail and her husband, Jesse. Through a series of unex pected and heartbreaking events, they found themselves at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. We are grateful for the exemplary care and attention they provided Rustin. While there, this little boy created so much love. Sadly, Rustin gained his angel wings on August 31. With humble and heavy hearts, we will donate 25% of the proceeds of Twin View Rainbow 110K to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Rustin’s honour to continue the miracle he has become for so many. Our advice? Buy them both and build your own cow family! The guesswork is taken care of, and the winning ticket is yours to cash in.

During our Ledgerwood visit Samee pointed to this pair suggesting they be part of Function and Finesse. I’m sure we both sucked in a mouthful of Wash ington dust thinking there was no way she’d let us take the best two year old pair on the place. Here they are! JLSL 059H is ultra flashy, ultra feminine, sleek, perfectly footed and just so easy on the eyes. Then we saw the job she was doing on her first heifer calf and we were quick to lock them down! We loved her in the flesh instantly but then we got the rest of the story and loved her more. She is a direct daughter of Rush Hour who was the bull that in stigated our friendship with Pete and Samee. He bred exactly the way they had hoped when they bought him adding dimension and mass to some of the tidier American bred cattle. 059H’s mother is 383A who could be one of the most complete Gelbvieh mother cows we’ve come across in quite some time. And she just so happens to also be mother to Bonanza who works at Diamond Z and here at Twin View!

14

Heifer calf, Stella Rose 210K, follows in Mama’s steps in so many ways. She’s attractive and sound with a sweeping rib design. Her pedigree gets even more unique being sired by Easy Rider who is an exceedingly impressive breeding bull. We’ve said before that if he were a higher percentage he’d be walking here at Twin View. He tops the breed in calving ease and birthweight values while maintaining performance. To make an already sweet deal even sweeter, Stella Rose is entered at Agribition should the new owner be interested in working with the Ledgerwood team to get her shown.

Each year when we create this offering, we focus on what matters most to us. Structural integrity, feet and udders and cow families to name a few. For the first time, a pair of sisters who check all the boxes! The Essence cow family is one of our smaller groups that originated from our breed up program. We keep a group of pedigreed commercial cows and once they prove themselves we’re able to register them as is the case here. Twin View Essence 92J and Twin View Essence 89K are out of a 75% cow who quietly goes about her business and gets the job done. She’s also raised a son that works for Gail and Jesse Sonntag.

Goodview Winnie 108 represents so many of great things the Goodview program has to offer. She’s supremely attractive, nicely skulled and dropping a beau tiful udder so typical of the Element daughters. Each year, we notice the Element daughters more and more as they pull us back for a second look. They are truly awesome females! Winnie 108 is backed by a beautiful young cow and the Winnie cow family is one of the long standing success stories at Goodview. Her mother raised a Hitch heifer calf this year who is drop dead gorgeous so 108J’s mating to Hitch should be a no brainer! 108J’s EPD’s and actual data offer a very user friendly profile with ample calving ease. With just a 66 pound birthweight and top 10% CE and BW numbers, she also had a weaning ratio of 108. How’s that for performance?

We thought long and hard about the sale commit to offering best, is quite Not only does she come from one of our smallest but extremely high quality families but she is also one of a limited number of Apollo daughters. Out of two black parents, she is a non-dilutor and is homo polled by parentage. She is so soft made, beautifully footed and has an unreal disposition just like her ideal mother cow. If her mother hadn’t given us another heifer calf this year she would not be in the group. Sungold is one of few heifers who missed her AI breeding but as we watch the High Calibre calves develop, this mating could be about as good as it gets and the little later calving date will be appealing to many. We’d be watching Calibre to add some colour and stretch without compromising muscle design. Sungold only has sunny days ahead!

Twin View Trinity is a stone cold stunner who already has people stopping in their tracks to admire her! Purebred Gelbvieh females are rarely designed as nicely as she is with her beautiful front third, explosive rib shape and massive barrel that leads into a square hip and ideal tail head set. Her mother is an other of our bred up females who has already raised one of our past bull futurity entries and a son to Kristy Creek Gelbvieh. Trinity is sired by the Thunder Struck bull we bought from Gustin’s Diamond D. He was an extremely prolific breeding bull and his offspring consistently have the front end our breed has been looking for. A Thunder daughter was undefeated as a heifer calf last fall and continued her winning ways this summer. Trinity’s mating to Bonanza was one we hand selected for their complimentary traits. Here’s a female who we’ve had earmarked as a feature lot for Function and Finesse 4.0. She will be a very wise investment!

Twin View Boe 125J is one of the youngest bred heifers in the pen but she certainly runs right alongside the group and is one we’ve had reserved for Func tion and Finesse! She comes from the Boe cow family we rank very highly for their consistent and high quality production. 125J’s mother is a maternal sister to Bojangles, Knock Out and Bad Habit as well as a fourth bull to our amazing neighbors, the Hicks family. Her grandmother is four time dam of Merit who really doesn’t miss! She is homo polled by parentage and should mature to be a very productive, useful female for years to come. Right off the bat, her baby by Vendetta will get you in on the ground floor of something we believe will be very special! Vendetta has many of the pieces we value most and the sky is the limit for the baby Boe 125J has on board.

When Samee lets you take your pick you aim high and that’s exactly what we did! Ledgerwood Jasmine ranks at the front of the pack for her awesome qual ity and value. Her mother is typical of their program with a fault free udder and overall design while her sire came from the Kicking Horse program. The maternal side of the pedigree includes a bull named BB’s Lester who Samee holds in high regard for his ability to produce great females. Her breeding date suggests a mating to DDGR Smooth Criminal selected from the Gustin program in North Dakota but Ledgerwood will pay for DNA on the calf. He is an impressive son of the extremely popular and widely used Franchise bull whose influence is minimal so far in Canada. An outcross and special opportunity exists here and no matter how you slice it, the dividends will be huge!

AI bred May 2 to JLSL Easy Rider 9160G ET. Exposed May 3-June 8 to DDGR Smooth Criminal 258J and June 8-July 20 to JLSL Easy Rider 9160G ET. Preg tested 85 days on August 15. Believed to be safe to DDGR Smooth Criminal 258J.

Twin View Daisy 68J is a smooth made, ultra feminine, long bodied mother cow in the making carrying a fresh new pedigree on board! Her mother is a Zake daughter with a picture perfect udder and her maternal sister sold in the first Function and Finesse to the Thackeray family. Another Zake daughter, Gayle 78E, has been a donor and leading lady around here the last few years. Daisy 68J is sired by Grizzly Red who has been so widely accepted in our industry and earned himself an ORB Champion of the World title. He’s a pretty special main man around here and he will be one of the most impactful sires on our program for years to come. Quite honestly, this may be one who gets overlooked sale day but we’re so confident you’ll clip the coupon if you take a second lap around the pen!

A future brood cow matron comes in the form of Twin View Wynn 98J! She’s dark red, soft made, soggy and stout, tremendously sound and backed by a powerful cow family. To be honest, we did not think she was a Drake daughter but this is a prime example of why we insist on DNA parentage verification. Things happen but it is the seller’s job to know and to iron out those details! Truthfully, she would not be in this offering if we had known earlier. We can tell you she will be the very last direct Drake daughter we ever sell. They have proven to be highly valuable, awesome mother cows with big time foot and udder quality. Her mother is a trouble free cow we purchased as a calf who consistently produces big pounds come fall. The mating to Crowfoot should make Wynn even more untouchable as our semen store is extremely low. Someone needs to talk with management about Wynn being in these pages. Only the best for Function and Finesse! This is a female you could truly Wynn big with and one we’ll be watching very closely down the road!

A powerful and dark red female comes to us in Goodview Maureen 105. She has beautiful muscle expression, is bold in her design and has the look of a mother cow. Maureen 105 is one certainly worthy of the Maureen name. This cow family is rock solid at Goodview and 105J certainly fits the mould. She is sired by the widely admired, Exact Combination, whose semen and progeny have been in high demand. She carries the service to Eaton which should really click. A pair of Eaton daughters sold in Function and Finesse 3.0 who were very popular. They are high volume, easy doing cattle who pay their way. You can never underestimate the value of cow families and we believe the Maureen name is one that will live on for generations in the Gelbvieh breed.  Exposed April 29-June 10 to BLB Goodview Eaton 35E. Preg tested 60 days on July 27. Due late February.

Goodview Maxine 115J exudes power and Gelbvieh breed character! In fact she is the largest framed, longest bodied female in the bred pen. The Maxine family is another group of mother cows at Punnichy who consistently get the job done. 115J’s mother is certainly no exception. Many will remember a super soggy, super stout made heifer from the first sale who was purchased by Del Wyatt. That heifer is a maternal sister to 115J along with 2 maternal brothers working for commercial programs and another sister at Goodview. Her sire is a bull who worked at RPS for a number of years before Blair injected him back into the program through AI. Consistently, the Stacker progeny have been long bodied and powerful. At a time when some could argue cattle are getting too small, Maxine 115J can change the tide!

RPS Jenny comes with a pedigree built around hardworking and consistent mother cows. Her mother, RPS Jenny 74A, was a Sweetheart Finalist in 2014 and her grandmother, 109W, is still working at Medstead. The 74A mother cow has also raised four bulls who have gone to work in commercial programs. It’s no surprise to find she is a Young Blood daughter. Females from that bull really seem to work! She is sired by the Grid Iron bull who is a really good structured bull with great calving ease value and a beauty Mama cow. 153J represents his oldest group of daughters who all have a consistent cowy presence. Good females make good females and here’s one backed by great cow families on the top and bottom of her pedigree. She is bred for years of high quality production.  16 to 27-June to

Tequila Sunrise is sired by the Gage bull who is stout, heavy muscled and very moderate. This female had a very user friendly birthweight and had a weaning ratio well above average. She is safe to the Grid Iron bull who is a proven calving ease sire and is the sire of the lot 31 heifer. AWB Twin View Baha 20J ET is an exceptional female with an extremely bright future no matter how you choose to use her. She’s bold in her shape and design, beautiful in her structure, broody and liver red! We had every intention of offering two sisters as a choice lot but a minor injury to her flush mate meant only 20J would find her way into the offering. This female excites us for all that is possible! She has the genetic merit to find herself as a donor cow just like her mama in the future with a vast range of suitable matings. We said from a few months of age we wanted to breed her and her sisters to Grizzly Red. We firmly believe this is the ideal compliment and are sure the results will be awesome. We’ve been quietly hoarding the Baha daughters for ourselves and have no doubt we should have kept Twin View Baha 20J on the untouchable list too! We keep pounding home the value we place on cow families and the Baha name is one of the greats!

We will never forget the moment we saw Baha come over the hill at JSJ. It was one of those moments that helped map the next path of our program. She proved to be a successful donor cow who produced great results regardless of the mating now with 26 registered progeny. From early days, together with James and Shayla, we felt Get N Go 90J was an ideal mating. As luck would have it, we only got heifers from the mating which made it possible for us to offer the very best of the homo polled sisters in Function and Finesse!

Lot 34 is the heart of our ET program with a pregnant recip carrying a Twin View Baha 1H x Twin View Crowfoot 59E baby! After much debate, we offered a recip in last year’s sale. That heifer resulted in a big win at Ledgerwood and a heifer calf who has found her way to their show pen. This year, we’re excited to offer another heifer carrying a mating who is sure to get the blood pumping. Baha 1H is so special to us and Crowfoot has outdone himself. The bull calf at side of 1H is a full sib to this embyro. He will be a hot commodity come spring! Hairy, dark red and more than enough calving ease to breed every heifer you can find. Bull or heifer…this baby will be special! The recip is a half blood Thunder struck daughter who comes from a long line of recip cows we rely on each year. She is the result of a missed embryo but we have no complaints when a natural calf is of this quality. Greatness lies within!

FLUSH ON AWB TWIN VIEW BAHA 1H ET

Together with our friends, Classic Cattle Co., we are very excited to offer this unique opportunity to flush Baha 1H. This female has been special to us from day one and we knew we had to be a part of her future. She topped Function and Finesse 2.0 as a heifer calf to the Edwards family and we were thriled when they offered the chance to maintain part of her here at Twin View. She was Reserve Supreme Female in the Agribition Evolution Series and then Reserve Division Champion at Farmfair as a bred heifer and in the First Lady Classic last fall. She has continued to develop into a model female. Baha 1H is a direct daughter of the famous Baha 35B and the high selling SLC Viper 7E. She’s superbly feminine, has a big time udder and is so beautiful to admire. She is elite in her structure and joint design, she simply floats on the move. Her production record is already beyond hopes! An IVF flush to Preakness resulted in 3 bull calves who are absolutely awesome as well as her natural bull calf who will stand at her side this fall. We’re excited to expect more ET calves in January. We will open up our tank to any eligible semen and will be happy to consult on possible matings. The flush will be completed by Bow Valley Genetics and we guarantee 6 freezable embryos. Only in Function and Finesse will we offer opportunities as special as this one!
